Night drive around the city
I love to drive at night. Usually, the traffic is less and the streets are not filled with cars. Night lights lit up the streets. It's a city that's always on the move, with its mix of modern developments and older, more traditional neighborhoods. Recently, there has been an increased in the number of buildings around the city. I sometimes have this imagination whereby the city is like a living breathing creature breathing and living. You see it grow and evolve.
Driving around Miri city at night
After a hard day's work, it is usually great to drive around the city. The smooth roads that connect the city are well designed. However, one thing about being in Miri, is that all roads here are with speed bumps not far apart from each one. So what this basically means is that, you can't speed with your fast cars here.
This is the video tour of Miri city from my dash cam
I've been so busy recently that I haven't a chance to record much videos. I've also not flown my drone for a while.
I was at Imperial Mall
This is one of the biggest malls here in Miri. It's a popular tourist destination.
Miri used to have dark roads. Nowadays, even though it's not fully lit but then the number of street lamps have increased throughout the city.
My favorite things taking a night drive around the older part of the city. The winding streets and old buildings give the area a charming, nostalgic feel that's hard to resist. I wonder if they would exist in the future. The government has also taken effort to renovated older buildings. Sadly, many older buildings have also been demolished. I can't help but notice the contrast between the older, more traditional buildings and the sleek, modern skyscrapers that have sprung up in recent years.
As I continue my drive, I pass by rows of colorful shophouses that have been a fixture of Miri's cityscape for generations. These old buildings, with their distinctive facades and ornate details, have been lovingly maintained over the years and provide a glimpse into the city's rich history. Miri has seen its worst days when the Japanese invaded and bombed some of the areas in the city.
Pelita Tunku
This is one of the oldest high rises in the city. It was once a popular shopping mall back in the early 2000s. Now, it still houses some businesses but I have not been to this mall for a long long time. The basement car park is a scary place to be.
Hope that you enjoy the view of the whole city. I just love driving around different places and explored hidden places that would otherwise have been missed.
I support your driving at night is less of a traffic jam, but it can be risky when we are drowsy, so be extra careful, always hopeful good luck for your family.
