I recently went hiking at Canada Hill here in Miri. I also brought my drone with me. This is my 153th flight. Miri has been rapidly expanding, there are a couple of new skyscrapers that have appeared in the skyline.

Usually, I fly the drone up to about 100 meters. This is the height which is safe enough for the drone to hover above.

The city area of Miri

Miri is a small city located in the Northern part of Borneo Sarawak.

This is a new path that was recently cleared in order to curb landslides. They have planted some grass and reduced the steepness of the slope.

The tall building in the middle of this picture was one of the earliest buildings here. At that time, Miri only had this building. That was a couple of decades ago. That building is known as the Wisma 2020 building.

The empty space in the middle is a huge park. A lot of events take place there and many play football there. Miri has a population of around 300,000 people.

The latest place where you can take lots of nice photos. This was just built around two years ago. It is a landmark in Miri nowadays where many tourists visit and get their pictures taken. This could be Malaysia's highest signboard and the biggest.

The highways along the city. This is the main hub of activity where lots of things goes on here.

The Marina area in Miri. The grey tall building that you see is Shell operation's headquarters in Malaysia.

Canada hill

This is a popular spot for locals to hike and there is a museum here where you can visit to learn about petro science.
