Hi hi.. How has been the first day of New Year been for you? For the last two years, I was in Miri as I celebrated the New Year. This year, I've celebrated my New Year in Brunei. Do you want to see what driving in Brunei looks like? It's a peaceful and nice country. Brunei is a clean country. I am going to show you some of the photos that I've taken while I was in Brunei.

This is my first post for the year 2023. I guess, I've not missed a day without posting here. I'll post no matter what. I have to do it. It's something that I have to be consistent with.

SERIA

Shell station

Petrol stations here in Brunei take offs. They put up bars like these when they close. In Miri, petrol stations never close for business. It's always open until it's closing time at night.

The Nodding donkey

The nodding donkey is synonymous to Brunei's. As you drive along Brunei roads especially along Seria, you'll be greeted with lots of nodding donkeys. Amazing to look at. They really look like donkeys drinking water.

The water tank

Water tanks like these can be seen around Brunei. They help store water. When it's needed, the water can be taken out of storage. I am just giving my own theory of how the water is used. But, that's a water tank. How amazing physics can be. A huge top with a small cylindrical body which proves that cylinders are indeed strong structures.

SERIA TOWN

This isn't a big town but it is peaceful. Fresh air, less crowding and definitely the well planned architecture.

The sports complex

This is a sports complex as well as a place where events take place. There is a gym too. Brunei has lots of good gyms to go to if you plan to get fit.

An expat accommodation

Brunei has an expat community mostly from the UK. There is a section of Brunei that is modelled after a British township. Usually, locals prefer two storey houses.

The firestation

Brunei has high safety standards and fire breakouts are quite rare but not impossible. They happen. These are fire trucks. Read for some action.

A solar energy farm

Not sure this place is called. It is solar energy harvested and stored. Brunei trying to be clean and offsetting some carbon emissions. More than 60% of Brunei is still covered with forest. An amazing country to live in. So much greenery.
