Compassion for fishes
Animals have feelings too. They do not talk but they feel the pain. Some locked in cages for hours a day. From time to time, my mom and I would visit the fish market and release some fish. There are some who may argue that the fisherman would have later caught them and sell them here again. At least, there is that chance where they may not be re captured.
The local fish market here in Miri
This fish market is a new market that wasn't here years ago. It's cleaner and more hygienic. Each day, fisherman head to the sea to load up their stalls with fishes to sell.
One fish that they usually keep alive is the catfish. These catfish usually are still alive so that's the fish that my mom loves to buy. We usually release them at a river that is far away from this particular market. Just in case they get re captured.
The catfish
I do not usually fancy eating catfish as what I know about them is that they are bottom feeders.
Well, I guess, these fishermen need to feed their families too. It's a really hard choice at times. Catch fish, earn money and feed the family.
Seafood here in Miri cost a lot
The cost of fishes here in Miri are higher as compared to neighbouring Brunei. I have visited the Brunei market at times.
So after we buy these fishes, we usually drive out to somewhere far.
Release them into the river. My mom loves doing this more than me. She has been doing this for a long long time.
The river of Miri
Rivers here are fortunately clean. Not many people throw rubbish into the river which is a good thing.
These fishes are alive
So after releasing these fishes into the river, we take away all the plastic bags and keep them to not pollute the surrounding environment. I usually try my best not to litter just to keep the surrounding clean and tidy.
Do you love releasing animals?
Have a great day.
Yay! 🤗
