Currently, I am in Brunei for a short trip. Havin' some time off. As a food lover, one of the things to do here is to definitely explore some of the local restaurants to try the food. Brunei has a number of Chinese restaurants.

HAN CHIN PENG / Chinese cinammon roll

These are crispy round dough. These are aromatic. They smell really wonderful.

Ho Yuan is a restaurant located in the town of Tutong, Brunei. One of the most iconic views is the Tutong River which is seen opposite this restaurant.

At the moment, it is quite hot. The rainy season just ended not long ago. Lots of suns.

The restaurant

The best type of restaurant to visit is definitely an open-air restaurant that isn't air-conditioned. That means that the food is definitely less expensive as compared to places with air-con. Fans cool down the whole place inside.

Claypot noodles, Cinnamon rolls, prawn noodles and etc.

Cinamon rolls

Simply delicious. Crunchy. A bit like doughnuts but with that cinnamon taste.

Coffee

Coffee at a Chinese restaurant is usually brewed using a filter bag. The coffee is poured into the filter bag and left in boiling water to let the coffee brew. The best coffee has dark colors as well as a strong aroma.

Soupy noodles

This is the clay pot noodles with eggs and meat.

KEUH CHAP

This soup is a popular dish in Brunei, Malaysia as well as Singapore. It consists of pork meat, garlic, flavourful broth and etc. This is not for everyone. I do not enjoy this as there is a really strong stench.

CHICKEN CHOP RICE

Fusion of Western food as well as Asian. The crunchy chicken chop has that flavourful gravy. Yummy. It is the Chinese version of umami. It tastes sour, salty, bitter as well as sweet all in one.

Finally, there are the noodles

This is a plate of boiled noodles that are mixed with flavourful sauce. Super delicious. You don't always find this everywhere around the world.
