A well deserved holiday
The last time that I had a day off was a couple of months ago. I've been working non stop so at the moment, I am taking a couple of days off just to have a short rest. So why not cross the border and just stay for a couple of days in Brunei?
One of the places to definitely stop by is NAAFI. NAAFI, for Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes, is a chain of stores that serves members of the military and their families in the United Kingdom. However, the store in Brunei is open to the public at a higher price than what a military Personnel pays.
NAAFI
A lot of what is in NAAFI is imported directly from the United Kingdom. There is a community nearby where the army lives. Brickwork patterns cover the entire wall section of the shop.
All cars here reverse park
Most Bruneians practice reversing parking. I guess, this ensures safety when there is an emergency, it is easier for everyone to leave as quickly as possible.
A wide selection of imported chocolates
In Sarawak, there are imported chocolates but not this many. You'll find a wide selection of chocolates from popular brands such as Cadbury, Toblerone, and many more. In addition, you will also find other treats like biscuits, chips, and drinks. One of the best things to get whenever I visit Brunei is to get chocolates.
Doughnuts
Are you a fan of these soft round treats? Yummy! Don't they look appetizing?
Easter eggs
Eventhough Easter was a couple of weeks ago, these round chocolate easter eggs are still on sale. I bought one a couple of years ago. Pure indulgence. I was looking for ones that have surprise toys in them but these only have a chocolate casing.
Public holiday
Lots of people buying stuff here as it was a public holiday. Crowds gather.
The cafe
A coffee machine where you can self-dispense a selection of coffee nearby. You'll just get a cup and select the coffee you want ranging from latte, cappuccino, espresso, and many more. My very much-needed caffeine shot. I had been out driving all day.
One of my favorite section. The cold storage section.
Pizzas, ice cream, cakes. Just to name a few. I don't think you'll resist the temptation buy and satisfy your cravings.
Mini eggs inside a big chocolate egg
I did not buy this because I knew that If I did, I had to make sure to finish that big huge egg before I get to those mini eggs and that hefty price tag. Brunei dollars are not too far from the US dollars.
So this is my tour of NAAFI. With advanced mapping and GPS. If you do cross the border into Brunei, just search NAAFI and get your roaming turned on. Then, you'll find NAAFI. You'll need a car too. Places in Brunei are far apart.
Have a great day.
You had a great walk with that place. I love those chocolates, yummy.
hi hi. Jen morning. morning . It's great to know that you love eating chocolates too. What is your favourite chocolate?
I love toblerone or any available chocolates. I do eat in moderation too because my throat will react if I will eat a lot.
