A visit to the temple

Hi hi .. Currently, it is the ghost month in the Chinese Lunar calendar. This is the time when it is believed that the spirits are let out for a month. It is also a time to pay my respect to my ancestor. There is a temple here in Miri where we can put our ancestor's name here for us to pay some respect.

Che Sing Kor temple

Well built temple gates. There is an obsession here to have temple gates built slowly and meticulously crafted.

This temple is only a couple of decades old. But it has been well maintained.

Dragons wrap around the marble pillars protecting the temple from any evil spirits as well as bringing good luck.

Huge halls

These halls are usually used for special ocassions. Everyone would gather here and monks sit in front. Reciting buddhist chants.

Walking into this temple brings me into this other world.

Somethinf different from what is modern.

My niece happily running around. We were here before she went to school. She was happy. So much space to run around.

The deities in front

Lots of red lanterns hang from the ceiling. At night, these lanterns are usually lit up and what you will see is the red glow from the temple.

Ancient window design

It is pretty amazing to be here having my own imagination of what life would have been in ancient times.

The floors are immaculate. Sparkles. The caretakers doing a good job of maintaining this temple.

This altar faces the sky

Praying to the skies. This is definitely a magnificent view.

That gate

If you are driving along this road, you will not miss out this place at all. The gate can be easily seen.

My wife

This temple is situated around the neighbourhood. Lots of residential houses.

This complex houses everyone's ancestors.
