This is Miri’s bus station and this could be the last month of being in operation. This bus station has been here for the last couple of decades connection Miri to other cities in Sarawak. As Sarawak moves forward, it looks for ways to built better connectivity with other towns and cities.

There is a new bus terminal that replaces this current station. This new bus station is going to have lots of shops and eateries.

The buses of Miri

These are some of the buses here at the station. The tickets here are available all the time. You do not need to buy them in advance. Anytime you want to travel, just grab your bags and head to the station and buy the tickets.

I went to the station just to take photos of the bus station.

This station is a simple station with the main building where you can get your tickets and there are some snack stalls nearby too. However, these days due to better roads in Sarawak, most prefer to drive for a couple of hours to reach another district of Sarawak.

In the past, a lot of roads that connect to other areas of Sarawak were really bad. Lots of potholes, bumpy. These buses go directly to Bintulu, Sibu and finally to Kuching. Kuching is the capital of Sarawak.

These buses are a cheaper alternative to flight and are fully airconditioned. You can also send cargo to other districts and cities using the bus service here. Quite economical and effecient. Usually, it only takes a day for the cargo to reach.
