ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #139 - My Favorite Foods

*Who could not resist a grilled chicken? As a kid, I liked chicken, from fried chicken to any dish, but I love grilled chicken the most. When Mang Inasal came into the picture they had the best grilled chicken in town! The dish looks very simple but once you taste it you cannot resist eating it.

What is Chicken Inasal?
Chicken "inasal" means roasted or char-grilled meat which is marinated and then grilled over charcoal. *

They are the Philippines Grill expert that delightfully serves the best chicken inasal (grilled chicken), which also comes with unlimited rice.

They offer combo meals, where you can get one big chicken, unlimited rice, soy sauce, chicken oil, and one small extra creamy halo-halo (creamy shaved ice concoction) topped with red sago, buko pandan, langka, ube halaya, yellow beans, red mongo beans, and leche flan.

Eating with your clean hands is better to savor the moment while eating the chicken. Yesterday I satisfied my cravings to eat the best grilled chicken in town.

I usually have this grilled chicken twice a month whenever I get to the city. There is also a restaurant in the nearest neighboring town, so I can easily go there if I want to. You should come earlier because lots of people will flock to this place, and you will wait in a long queue to get this delicious dish.

Making this dish is very simple because this is done by marinating chicken pieces depending on the unique spices that you have at home such as ground black pepper, soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, lemongrass, and garlic. When prepared right, the chicken is incredibly aromatic and flavorful throughout. The rendition of Mang Inasal is the best for me.

The key ingredient is the chicken/annatto oil or "atsuete, achuete" you can make it on your own or you can buy it at the supermarket.

Do not forget to eat it with your hands because you will need a lot of rice! You know eating too much is also unhealthy. As I've mentioned, I usually eat this only when I crave this food. We should eat more vegetables and fruit!
