Hello everyone!

A few days ago, me and my wife went on the so-called best Hiking Trail in the whole city of Rio de Janeiro: the Pedra da Gávea trail!

It took us about 8 hours to go up and down, and it included a short 10-minutes rock climbing up and another 10-minutes abseiling down. It's 100% sure the most difficult hiking trail I ever done in my life, and I'm still sore on my legs even almost after one week!

But it was a fantastic experience. We were able to have a breathtaking view of the city, with its beaches and its forests. Also, it was a big overcoming for both of us: I never imagined that I would be able to do such a long, difficult trail in my life!

I hope you'll enjoy the pictures!!!

Must have been such an exhilarating experience for the both of you. Just imagine the beautiful views. Really mind-blowing. I guess you'll say that the sore body was worth the hike. Hehe.
I hope I can do this at least once in my life.

Let me tell you: while I was actually doing the hike, I was incredibly unsatisfied; everything was hurting a lot, and I was thinking "why did I've even came here????"

But at the end of the hike I was already very happy. The views were breathtaking, and the whole experience of "conquering" the hike was amazing!!

What a breathtaking view! Are the abseiling ropes preinstalled on the hiking trail?

Yes, all the ropes (both for abseiling and for the rock climbing) are pre-installed. The hike guide just give all of us our "climbing chair" (idk exactly the name, the thing that you wear on your hips that you tie to the rope), and we go the whole hike wearing our "chair".

Between you and me: I'm also quite afraid of heights. I just ended up taking these photos because I'm sure that I won't ever climb there again in my life, so better take all the photos at once because I won't have another opportunity :P

yoo that looks crazy. I would be so scared to do it tho. I really admire you for having balls to do that.

I'll be honest here: it wasn't THAT scary in-person, it's more a camera field-of-view trick from the photographer :P

The difficult part was actually climbing and reaching up there. I was thiiiiis close from quitting in the middle of the track and going down :/ But the group kept incentivizing me, so I kept going :D

Wow! Indeed, it is the best. The best overlooking view from above even makes things more amazing my dear friend. You did it and congratulations for having the best hike ever! And I so love the breathtaking and scenic views. Have safe travels.

I'm 100% sure that this will be the best, most difficult hike that I'll ever do in my life. And I'm not even exaggerating: that was is, without any doubt, the day I did the most physical exercise in my life. I never felt more tired and sore before :P
