NOISE POLLUTION

(Edited)

One of the things that i enjoy the most about being back at home, my family home, is that we enjoy constant power supply and there's rarely power outage thus people don't have to turn on generator sets to provide electricity.

But over here, it's a different ballgame altogether. The light supply is so not steady. We barely have the supply a few hours in a day and sometimes not at all for some days. And so during these times, people turn on their generator sets. But it can get crazy! The sounds, the roaring sounds from all different sets, can cause serious migraines to a person. It's almost crazy. I can't afford to be angry, but sometimes it can get annoying when these sets are turned on for so long, especially at night when a person is struggling to sleep or concentrate on something. Worse even, most of the generator sets are either old or haven't been serviced in a while, and so they make really coughing, cranky sounds. Heck! It's just crazy. I would have talked about the fumes they emit, which makes the air thick and breathing quite uncomfortable, but this prompt doesn't ask that I talk about more than one type of pollution.

In addition to the noise from generator sets run both in homes and offices, there's the noise from industries around which can be almost deafening to people around. And there's the noise from the road and vehicle movement. This one is almost unavoidable. I wonder how we function amidst all the insanity and chaos around here.

The city I reside in is a very noisy one, and even late at night, you can hear people talking and vehicles moving. The different people talking and screaming all at once, the vehicles honking with their tires screeching all add to the noise. It's almost difficult to hear the person opposite you. People have to scream to talk to themselves even.

I have not heard of any regulations for this yet. I suppose that if the government and also, those in charge of electricity supply give power supply for at least a fair number of hours daily, the rate at which people turn on their generator would decrease well enough. Except that, you can't ask any to not do so cause the electricity is very important.

Also, I don't see a way to reduce the noise pollution that comes from humans and vehicular movements on the road. There may be ways but, with how the different factors that contribute to the sounds as it already is can not function noiselessly, it will take a long while to restore sanity in this county and too, that will take a long time to happen.

I really look forward to the time when, especially, most of these machines and vehicles would be regulated.
But for now, nothing has been implemented. At least, not to my knowledge.

I hope that this was interesting to read. Thanks for coming around.
