We Will Experience The SPS Level Of Hype In The GLX?
Let me answer the question first. We will not see the SPS-level hype in GLX because they have a different strategy for the genesis league sports and this game is not even launched. But yes there is hype and maybe in the long run, genesis league will do something better because, in the end, this is a project of splinterlands. Recently, I visited the last town hall post and I have not seen any update regarding Genesis League.
Maybe the next week we can see something regarding the genesis league game. I am talking about the game launch. Game launch can push the GLX price upside. Faith is a big thing and sps built trust among the holders which is why holders feel connected with the sps and believe in long-term holding. GLX will take time to build faith in the holders. I know the potential of SPS and in the future, it will be difficult for us to get more SPS. The second thing is its governance token and it has multiple use cases. These factors played a major role to build trust in the holders.
GLX has all the factors but it is still new in the market and now they are getting GLX at a cheap price from the market also the reward is higher so users do not understand the value. Things have value only when they become expensive so we can say that GLX is undervalued for now.
SPS Hype Was Different
Splinterlands had already become popular when SPS was launched. That is why SPS token hype was different and at that time splinterlands team announced the biggest-ever airdrop in the whole crypto industry so it created more hype. Getting tokens for one year for existing splinterlands users as well as new users who hold dec or buy any card. This was not a small thing. You can say that this was a marketing smart move that brings lots of users into the splinterlands. Whether this was a good decision or not, you have to say in the comment.
Believe it or not but sps airdrop brought many users to the game. Currently, we are paying the price of that airdrop but it was a good decision. You know this type of thing makes Splinterlands unique and different than other games.
Airdrop Effect On SPS
As I said, I consider this a smart move to bring more users to Splinterlands. It is obvious that whales would dump the tokens and this is what we are seeing now. Whales always looking for profit and they did a similar thing with SPS. This airdrop also affected the price of DEC token because lots of people were holding DEC tokens to earn more SPS and when the sps airdrop ended, they sold the DEC tokens as well. However, we can't ignore the use cases of SPS and that is the reason that many users hold a good amount of SPS tokens.
My Weekly GLX Holding Update
Finally, I have crossed the $29 dollars total assets value in genesis league. Price was declining and this is the big reason that the USD value was not increasing even after adding GLX tokens to the balance. Anyway, right now I have 4538 GLX tokens and GLX staking APR is still good which is 84%. With the 84% APR, you can earn a good amount of tokens, and because of this specific reason, I keep on adding more tokens in the GLX staking.
I am still in confusion that what is the plan after 142 days because there is clearly written that "142 DAYS REMAINING FOR STAKING REWARDS". They should not stop staking rewards. If they are ending airdrop after 142 days then it is required but not for the staking because staking is important. I don't know what is the plan after stopping the staking. Anyway, I hope they will come up with the game launch update soon so we can see little positivity in the GLX market till then you can keep accumulating.
