Australian Police Seize $9.3M In Crypto, Nab Mastermind Of Ghost Platform
Hello guys my name is lucky ali and most welcome to my blog. The Australian Federal Police which is known for its bravery has seized crypto tokens worth $9.3 million in a major move against organised crime. There was a secret encrypted communications platform, Ghost, leading to the arrest of its alleged mastermind with cryptocurrencies. Using digital forensics, officers hacked the suspect's multiple cryptocurrency accounts. Only this but earlier operations have recovered millions in seized cryptocurrency assets, and the ongoing investigation into crypto aims to weaken the crime network further.
AFP seizes cryptocurrency fund worth $9.3M amid crackdown on secret encrypted crime networks
The Australian Federal Police which short form is AFP announced last week that it led the CACT (Criminal Assets Confiscation Taskforce) to seize $9.3 million worth of crypto assets on 17 Sept. and this was part of Operation Kraken. Operation Kraken targets the alleged mastermind of an encrypted communications platform whose name Ghost, used by organized crime.
a 32-year-old Narvi resident was a suspect and this person was arrested and charged with supporting a criminal organization like Ghost this is a clear crime with evidence.
Criminal Assets Confiscation Taskforce, which was established in the 2012th year, and this organization brings together experts from a number of agencies such as the AUSTRAC and the Australian Taxation Office. Since 2019, it has seized more than $1.1 billion in criminal assets so this is not only working in crypto but all digital transactions. Once seized, funds are deposited into a seized assets account, and this fund is not used by owners but this fund used for law enforcement efforts and crime prevention across Australia. The AFP confirmed the investigation is still ongoing, and more things are yet to come out and seized assets could eventually be vested in the Commonwealth.
In its efforts to disrupt organized crime, the AFP organization demonstrated its ability to not only trace the assets but also recover hidden assets and this is a big thing because it is not good that criminals get funds and misuse those funds. Acting Commander Scott Raven stressed that criminals cannot hide their illicit funds and they will eventually targeted.
you know this Operation Kraken is the most successful because it has led to 93 search warrants, 46 arrests, and the seizure of $2.37 million in cash including crypto assets, as well as various weapons. And this is a great achievement. As a true crypto supporter, we should be against such crimes to make our Crypto community clean and good for everyone. After all, this is a decentralized network so we have to power to control and help. What is your opinion regarding this information please let me know in the comment section.
