Let's say I am battling now and got battle with 15 mana cap. I have Scorch Fiend (fire legendary monster) and Furious Chicken as well with good levels. So that means I have an extra two attacks to use and extra health and this thing will increase the chance of winning for me. So that means battle with small is easy to win if you have 0 mana cards with you. Sometimes you get only small mana battles and sometimes it is tough to win these battles so these cards can be a better solution for you.

With some upgrades, you will get abilities and attack in these small mana monsters. Furious Chicken has an Enrage ability on the 5 to 8 levels. Another thing is the melee attack on the 3rd level and further. The attack will increase by 2 in the 8th level. Soul Fiend is the life legendary monster with 0 mana. It has swiftness ability which means all friendly monsters in the team will get +1 speed. This is very beneficial but for this, you have to upgrade this monster by 4th levels and you need 11 BCX. Also, you will have 1 attack, 3 speed, and 2 health. similar benefits you will get in other cards such as scorch fiend (fire), torrent fiend (water), fungus fiend (earth), and corpse fiend (death).

Placement for 0 mana cards

You can place anywhere you want and it should be according to your strategy because placement depends on multiple factors such as battle rule, mana, and opponent team preference. So you have put these cards according to your needs. I am using it for the second position and sometimes at first or last. Sometimes I have to protect my last card so I put 0 mana card in the last. In the small mana battles, first and second position is good.
