You are right and, the resentment can lead to families drifting apart, without knowing what happened. I think every parent should communicate with each child, to understand how he/she feels.

As a middle child, I know what it's like to be overlooked. On the other hand, there are positive aspects to being left alone and get away with all kinds of mischief. 😄
