The Race for survivial
Survival, or the act of surviving, is the propensity of something to continue existing, particularly when this is done despite conditions that might kill or destroy it. The concept can be applied to humans and other living things, to physical object, and to abstract things such as beliefs or ideas. Wikipedia. Everyone of us strive for survival and the belief that we will get the best out of life.
A race is a categorization of humans based on shared physical or social qualities into groups generally viewed as distinct within a given society. The term came into common usage during the 16th century, when it was used to refer to groups of various kinds, including those characterized by close kinship relationsWikipedia. it is also defined as
a competition between runners, horses, vehicles, etc. to see which is the fastest in covering a set course.Oxford Advance Dictionary. Charles Darwin's makes it clear that the strong survives and the weak don't, he went forward to make it clear that those who easily adjust to their environment tend to be the most surviving in terms of reproduction, technological advancement and other factors. the world is seen as a hostile, intense race field where there are different competitors whose aim is to get the crown of victory irrespective of the obstacles they may face along the way. Once they are set on their mark, the need to pay attention to the sound of the whistle to start the race, irrespective of our fast they run and what challenges and obstacles they face along the way, the competitors who bear the burden of passing the barton they receive from the previous generation and pass it to the next generation those that diligently, cautiously and carefully to avoid certain pitfalls that will lead to disqualification or discontinuation of the race.
No matter your race, religion or status, we are all face with the challenges of running the race of life with survival at the fore front of it. In 2 Timothy 4:7, Paul says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” This well-known and oft-quoted passage is quite significant in that this epistle was Paul’s last before his martyrdom in A.D. 67. It is a deeply moving affirmation of his unwavering faith and unyielding love for the gospel of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:4; Galatians 2:20; Philippians 1:21).
“I have fought the good fight” is also significant for believers today because it serves as a stark reminder that the Christian life is a struggle against evil—within ourselves and in the world (John 15:9; Romans 8:7; James 4:4). Earlier in this same epistle, Paul reminded Timothy to “endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3). King's James Version
In the race for survival, one shouldn't allow certain frivolities to affect the overall price which is a crown be it the need to survive the next, hunger, the next economic hardship, the next famine, the next political struggle. One should not be discourage by the present condition which he/she finds herself and should brace for ups and downs that comes from the hustle and hardship that comes with run. the race itself is not an easy one, it takes sweat, perspiration and blood to come out victorious at the end
