My Weekly Battle Mage Secrets - Fire & Regret
Overview
The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁
This week the ruleset is the Fire & Regret, which means that all units will receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back.
The damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up. Ranged attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks and the Amplify ability will increases its damage. 😉
The upcoming Battle ruleset
Ruleset | Description |
---|---|
Fire & Regret | All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. |
Unprotected | Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs. |
Lost Legendaries | Legendary Monsters may not be used in battles. |
This battle had a 39 mana cap, which is quite good, because it is possible to use some of the big guns for this battle. The most important for me in this battle is to try to reduce the amount of Ranged attack monsters, but sometimes they are so good that I can not let go.
I have chosen the Fire splinter for this battle, because they buff their Melee attack monsters and without any Armor they are quite strong. 😊
My lineup
Tarsa is an excellent 4 mana Summoner and she gives +1 Melee attack and Health to all of his monsters. In this battle it was an easy choice to pick her, because the Fire & Regret ruleset kinda ban the Life and Death Splinter. 😁 | |
Tusk the Wide is an excellent low mana tank with an extraordinary high Health. He cost only 6 mana and he is well protected against the Magic attack monsters thanks to his Void ability. The Inspire is a very good boost for my Serpent Spy and Tenyii Striker. 🤗 | |
The Molten Ash Golem is my second layer of protection, because if Tusk the Wide dies he will fall into the first position, where he would mitigate some of the incoming damage thanks to his huge Health. His Weaken ability is also a nice addition, because he will reduce the Health of all the enemy monsters by one. 😁 | |
The Lava Launcher is my personal favourite creature from the Fire splinter. He has a huge Ranged Attack, which comes very handy with his Stun ability and he also got the Close Range ability (Can perform ranged attacks from the first position) making him a very good and reliable ranger in my team. 😊 | |
I used the Supply Runner to gain some Speed buff in order to attack first, because the Supply Runner has the Swiftness ability and he is a neutral card, so it is easy to include. I was hoping that his 7 Health will be enough for few attacks. 😎 | |
The Serpentine Spy cost only 3 mana, which is nice and he has the Opportunity ability, which means that he will always attack the lowest Health enemy creature. This will allow us to kill my opponent support creatures in their backline with ease. 😌 | |
The Tenyii Striker is an amazing Chaos Edition monster, because his stats make him a formidable opponent on the battlefield. On Level 4 he has 3 Melee attack, which is paired with his 7 Health for only 5 mana. It is very difficult to leave him out of a battle especially if you are including him with Tarsa, because that summoner is giving a +1 Melee attack and Health to him! His most important ability is Sneak, where he will target the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster, so there will be no safe place for my opponenet squishy backline monsters. 🤣 |
The Battle
My opponent picked the Life Splinter with a twist, because he took Lorna Shrine who gives a Divine Shield to all of his monsters. The Divine Shield is blocking one incoming attack of any type.
In the first round my team killed his Venari Marksrat who has the Martyr ability and buffed the stats of his main tank in the second position. The Tenyii Striker had a total of 5 Melee attack damage and without any armor it was enough to kill his Healer in his backline. The Return Fire removed the Divine Shield from the Venari Crystalsmith allowing my Striker to kill him.
In the second round I lost my main tank and the Molten Ash Golem took his place. The Drybone Barbarian became very strong thanks to the Vneari Marksrat and his own Enrage as well.
Luckily my Lava Launcher managed to hit him and Stun him completely, which gave me a huge advantage. My Opportunity and Sneak monsters are made a significant advantage to me, because they eliminated the backline of my opponent allowing my team to win this battle. 🤗

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy was to eliminate my opponent backline first with my Melee attack monsters and the Unprotected ruleset helped me a lot to do that. The only issue I had is that my team had to remove their Divine Shield first to be able to damage them. 😏
