My Weekly Battle Mage Secrets - Armored Up
Overview
The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁
This week the ruleset is the Armored Up, which means that all units get a +2 armor buff at the beginning of the game.
Use Void Armor to ensure that magic attacks strike armor first or use Shatter or Piercing to destroy your opponent's armor more effectively. 😌
The upcoming Battle ruleset

| Armored Up | All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat. |
| Keep Your Distance | Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles. |
| Earthquake | Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. |
The mana cap for my next battle was only 23, which is not much to build a proper team and leave a very little room for high mana monsters unless they are self sustainable like Quora or Kron etc. Unfortunately they were banned in this game, so I had to choose a different approach and try to build a solid team.
Usually I will go with the Water or Melee deck, because they have a lot of small mana monsters, but most of them are melee attack ones and this time they were banned from this game. The Earthquake made my decision even more difficult, because unless the monsters are Flying they will take 2 damage in every end of the round.
The Armored Up helps a little to protect both teams, so I had to twist my choosen Summoner a bit! 😁
My lineup
 | Grandmaster Rathe is an excellent Life summoner and he cost quite a lot of mana as well, which I hope will help me to overcome my opponent. He gives +1 armor to his monsters and two abilities. The first is the Void Armor, which means that his monsters will be able to use their armor against the magic attack monsters as well. The second is Amplify, which will increase all the reflected damage back to the opponent monsters. 😇 |
| The Pelacor Conjurer is one of my favoritemonster in the Life Splinter in low mana battles, because he cost only 2 mana and even thought he can not attack on its own he has amazing protection abilities. He got the Divine Shield to block an incoming attack and the Magic Refelect makes him a truly amazing monster against the magic attack monsters. His high speed is also good against the ranged attack monsters and on top of that he is able to Fly as well. 😜 |  |
 | The Pelacor Arbalest is the perfect damage dealer for this battle, because he is safe against the Earthquake as he Flies and he has the Double Strike ability as well, so he will attack twice in every round. 😊 |
| Adelade Brightwing is an excellent monster when it comes supporting your monsters, because she has the Repair ability, which will restore some armor on a monster who was damaged the most and the Resurrect ability will revive the first friendly monster back in case he dies. She also has the wings, so she is safe from the Earthquake and also got +2 magic attack as well. 🤗 |  |
 | The Xenith Archer is a low mana cost ranged attack monster and I didn't have too much mana left to choose anything else, so she was amazing to deal some extra damage in every round as long as she is not going to die against the Earthquake. ✈️ |
The Battle
My opponent brought General Sloan and a similar Life team, so he will try to maximise his damage output using the ability from him, which will increase all the ranged attack in his team by one. 😌
The first round was quite uneventful as both parties were quite sturdy and it was quite difficult for the two Arbalest to hit the Conjurer's on the front. They managed to remove the Divine Shield from them and the two Adelade took some damage against the Magic Reflect's.
In the second round I was more lucky, because my Arbalest hit his target twice and the enemy Arbalest missed mine twice. 😁
The Void Armor help a lot for my Adelade to mitiagate the reflected damage she is receiving from the enemy Conjurer.
In the third round we both lost our Conjurer's and they were resurrected back instantly by the two Adelade and after that his Adelade died against my Conjurer and his Magic Reflect ability. 😅
After that it was quite easy to win the game, because after we lost our tanks my Adelade was still alive with full health as she lost only her armor during the fight and she easily killed their Arbalest who fell into the first position and couldn't attack anymore. 💪
Battle Result
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy was to setup a solid team, whom is well prepared agains the remaining two attack types, which is the ranged and magic. My opponent were thinking the same, but he focuse on is damage and if he is a bit more luckier to hit my Conjurer (which is a quite difficult task) than the result might be a bit different. 😎
