Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Battle Challenge! (Little League)

eq_banner.png

I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be more interesting.

This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Little League and the way I used it to my (dis)advantage in the Battle I played. 😇

My only problem with this new system is that it is very difficult to do battles with the specific ruleset featured for the week challenge, because it is random what you are going to get and even if you have that ruleset you need to win it somehow, which is not always easy. 😏

Monsters and summoners of 4 Mana or less will be the only ones available in this ruleset, so try increasing your defense by using summoners that give +1 Armor or +1 Health. Use monsters with at least 2 Magic damage and 2 Ranged damage. Using Mylor as summoner in this ruleset helps a lot, because of his huge Thorns reflected damage.

This ruleset is absolutely not my favorite and if there would be a list, which ruleset I hate the most this would be on the top one. I do not like this, because there is too much restrictions what to use, because most of the "good" monsters cost more than 4 mana (even the summoners), so it limits the choice heavily what your can bring.

The other problem is that if you play on higher leagues where there are more than one ruleset and you happen to get another one or two ruleset, which again limits what you can bring than you do not really have any option to choose from. It happened with me many times that I could choose only from the Ranged monsters in the Little League ruleset, so I could pick from around 4-5 monsters for the battle and that is it! 😱

Let's see what did I get for my battle and if I managed to win that game or no? 😁

RulesetDescription
Little LeagueOnly Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.
Melee MayhemMelee attack Monsters can attack from any position.

The mana cap was only 16 for my battle, which makes this battle really a League for the Little ones. The other ruleset I got was the Melee Mayhem, so out of the three available Splinter I have picked up the one who has a buff for the Melee attack monsters, which was Tarsa of course.

I had to be careful thought, because if my opponent would pick up the Obsidian than his Magic attack monsters could kill my monsters quickly using their +1 Magic buff from her. 😅

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Tarsa

image.png

Tarsa is a Fire Summoner and she gives +1 Melee and +1 Health to all of her friendly monsters. This is very powerful if you happen to pick Melee creatures. (Most of the times if I use Tarsa I will choose Melee monsters! 🤣)

The +1 Melee and Health is amazing especially in lower levels and in rulesets like Little League, because it is very difficult to protect yourself against this two ability. She cost only 4 mana, which is perfect for this ruleset and she also has space for a lot of monsters in her team. 😊

Main Tank
Antoid Platoon

image.png

The Antoid Platoon cost only four mana, so he is a perfect fit for the Little League ruleset and he acts as a the main tank for my team, because he has the Shield ability, which will effectively halves all the incoming Ranged and Melee attacks. The only problem with this monster is his low Health, especially if my opponent will bring a Magic attack monster! 😅

The Sneaker
Kobold Miner

image.png

The Kobold Miner is an excellent addition into a Tarsa team, because he will benefit greatly of her buffs*. He has the Sneak ability, which means that he will always be attacking the last monster from the enemy team, which is great if you want to surprise your opponent by killing their squishy monsters, which is especially true in the Little League ruleset. 😆

The Opportunist
Serpentine Spy

image.png

The Serpentine Spy cost only 3 mana, which is nice and he has the Opportunity ability, which means that he will always attack the lowest Health enemy creature. This will allow him to kill my opponent low mana monsters from the back of his backline who will give me a huge trouble otherwise! 😁

He has a lot of Melee attack power and his high Speed will ensure that he will always attack first! The only drawback of the Spy is that he has a very low Health.

The Armorer
Flame Monkey

image.png

The Flame Monkey is not strong at all as a Melee attack monster even with the +1 buffs, but he has an important ability, which will restore some armor to the friendly monster whose armor has taken the most damage in every round.

Even one Armor piece is able to fully block an incoming Melee or Ranged damage as long as the enemy monster doesn't have the Piercing ability, which is amazing and makes this monster truly great and on top of that he cost only 1 mana and are able to attack from the back in this battle! 😉

The Backline Protector
Ant Miners

image.png

Luckily the Ant Miner is not just a dead weight in my team thanks to the Melee Mayhem ruleset and he has the Scavanger ability, which will grant him one max health each time any monster dies on the battlefield. My tactic using him was either protecting my backline from the enemy Sneak monsters or if my opponent would bring any than by the time he will fell into the first position he would have a decent Health built up, which will help him to kill the remaining monsters from the enemy team. 😊

The Expendable
Scorch Fiend

image.png

The Scorch Fiend is just a filler monster, because he doesn't do much in any team, but he can soak up one or two attack from the enemy monsters for the cost of 0 mana, which is great. I used him in the back of my team if my opponent will decide to use some Sneak monsters like I did! 😁

My opponent brought the same Splinter like me, but with a different Summoner who was Malric Inferno. He cost only 3 mana instead of 4 like Tarsa, but he gives only +1 Melee attack bonus to his monsters without any Health buff. We will see if it was worth to save one mana for his team and lose that +1 Health buff. 🙃

My opponent brought a Creeping Ooze and the Goblin Shaman, which is pretty annoying, because they have the Slow ability, which will reduce the Speed of my monsters by two as long as they are alive. 😫

The Melee Mayhem made this battle crazy and unpredictable, because all the Melee attack monsters were able to attack in this battle and the Little League ruleset would make sure that no one will survive long enough! 😂

In the first round both of our last monsters died as it was expected using Sneak monsters on both sides. My Kobold managed to kill his Ooze by the end of this round removing one of the Slow monsters, because my team would have a big problem hitting their main tank who even has the Heal ability as well.

In the second round my jumper monsters killed another two monsters from his backline, so we could start to focus on his overpowered main tank.

Luckily my team had much more remaining monster than in the enemy team and the Flame Monkey helped a lot to keep my Antoid alive throughout the entire battle. 😉
