Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Battle Challenge! (Lost Legendaries)

image.png

I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be more interesting.

This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Lost Legendaries and the way I used it to my (dis)advantage in the Battle I played. 😇

My only problem with this new system is that it is very difficult to do battles with the specific ruleset featured for the week challenge, because it is random what you are going to get and even if you have that ruleset you need to win it somehow, which is not always easy. 😏

Legendary units may not be used.

Legendary summoners are still available.

The Lost Legendaries ruleset is an interesting one, because it eliminates all the Legendary monsters from the battle, which means that I need to rely only on the "weaker" monsters. This ruleset is quite budget friendly, because at least I do not need to use the most expensive monsters in the game. 😆

RulesetDescription
Target PracticeAll Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
Born AgainAll monsters have the Rebirth ability.
Lost LegendariesLegendary Monsters may not be used in battles.

The mana cap was 56, which is more than enough in a battle, where there is no room for the most expensive monsters. The Target Practice will allow all the Ranged and Magic attack monsters to attack the enemy Ranged, Magic or non-attack monsters instead of the Melee attack ones. This means that it is important to choose a strong Non-Melee attack monster to counter the Snipe attack from the enemy monsters.

The Born Again ruleset means that all the monsters will receive the Resurrect ability on the battlefield, so when they dies the first time they will get back to life with one Health and with all of their Armors.

Like I mentioned before the Lost Legendaries ruleset will eliminate all the Legendary monsters from the battle. 😊

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Lobb Lowland

image.png

Lobb Lowland is a special Earth Summoner, because he cost 6 mana and he has the ability to use one Gladiator card in his battle, which is qutie strong if it is used correctly. The Born Again ruleset is amazing with him, because I will be able to use one of the best monster in the game. 😁

Main Tank
Pelacor Mercenary
image.png

The Pelacor Mercenary is an amazing tank, because he cost 7 mana has a lot of Health and Armor and he also be able to Heal himself, which is always a good point from a tank. 😇

Martyr No.1

Venari Marksrat
image.png

The Venari Marksrat is a special monster, because stats wise he is not that strong, but he doesn't need to be strong at all, because he has one important ability, which is the Martyr, which means that he will increase the stats of the monsters next to him by one in case he dies.

This is especially good taking advantage of the Born Again ruleset where he will activate his ability twice in the battle. 😜

MVP
Quora Towershead
image.png

I think Quora Towershead is simply the best monster in the whole game, because she has two different attack type (Magic and Melee) and the Bloodlust ability, so if she manages to kill a monster she will increase her own stats by one permanently.

She also has the self Heal ability to further boost her sustainability and the two Martyr ability monster next to her will make her truly amazing. 💪

Martyr No.2
Fungus Flinger
image.png

The Fungus Flinger has the same role like my Marksrat, because he also has the Martyr ability, but on higher levels he gives the Blind ability to all of his monsters as well. 😌

Ranged Damage Dealer
Ultoh Dhampir
image.png

The Uloth Dhampir is an excellent Ranged damage dealer, with huge damage, but more importantly he has the Stun ability, which is amazing to Stun his target if he manages to trigger the 50% chance on them.

He naturally has the Snipe ability as well and his only weakness is his low Speed. 😅

The Taunter
Mycelic Slipspawn
image.png

I used the Mycelic Slipspawn to soak up some damage from the enemy monsters thanks to her Taunt ability, which will give some time to my Quora Towershed and my team deal some damage on the enemy team, before they start focusing down my other monsters. 🤗

My opponent brought Kelya Frendul and the Water deck, because he wanted to take advantage of the +1 Speed and Armor from him, which is always good in the Born Again ruleset, because if a monster comes back from the dead he will get all of his Armor back as well.

The battle might be long, because evey monster on the battelfield will have an extra life, which will extend the time of the battle easily. My opponent brought a pretty solid team and he also tried to use a monster with the Taunt ability to control my damage, which worked pretty well, because my team had a very diffcult time to damage him down.

Sadly in the meantime they killed my Slipspawn easily who came back to life once, but in the third round he died again and this time permanently.

Finally I lost my Marksrat, which is amazing to increase the stats of my Mercenary and Quora who came back to life immediately to die again and repeat the same process.

My Quora was twice as strong now, but was not enoug hto kill their Wave Brood who soaked up a lot of damage already. In the fourth round his Deeplurker killed my Fungus as well, which was a great news, because she used his Martyr ability as well.

In the fifth round my Quora finally was able to kill their Wave Brood, which also boosted her up a bit using her Bloodlust ability and we had to kill that again in the same round.

In the sixth round my Quora was super strong and even tought I lost my Mercenary and Ultoh Dhampir permanently she was able to kill one monster easily in every round, which also boosted her upa bit and her Heal ability was the cherry on top, which didn't let her die at all.

I like to play with Quora and her only weakness if she will get an Affliction not to allow her to heal, but on her third level she will be completely Immune to that as well. 😁
