Splinterlands Art Contest Week 313! - Fungus Flinger

It's been a long time since I last drew something. Before, I used to join the Splinterlands Fan Art Challenge every week, but since I got busy with other things, I haven't had time for it anymore.

Maybe it's because I really love drawing, even though I'm not that good at it, that I decided to draw again.

Drawing is a great recreational hobby, and it's really fun.

So, the character I thought of drawing today is Fungus Flinger. This unit is very popular because of its martyr ability. It’s perfect to slot in between the cards you want to strengthen, because if the opponent has the Opportunity ability, this will surely be the first target.

The Sketch

I started by sketching how I visualized Fungus Flinger in my mind—a character with lots of mushrooms on its head.

Once I finished the rough sketch, I moved on to the final sketch.

The Coloring

I used many color layers for this character. For each color, I made a new layer.

If I’m going to highlight, I make a new layer, and if I’m going to shade, I also make a new layer. I do this so it's easy to adjust the colors, and if I make a mistake, it won't affect the other colors.

The Background

The last thing I did was the background and effects. For the background, I kept it simple. I placed the character on grass and used a rough brush and a charcoal brush.
