Heavy Rain plus High Tide

I woke up a bit late today because I went to sleep at 4 am this morning. The heavy rain made it quite comfortable to sleep. There is a typhoon in the Philippines right now, and while I was asleep, the rain was nonstop. Coupled with high tide, it resulted in our house gradually getting flooded. Currently, the flood water inside our house is at about 3 inches.

About 10 years ago, we also experienced flooding in this house, with around 1 inch of flood water entering the house during a super typhoon. Now, although Typhoon Carina isn't categorized as a super typhoon, the continuous rain has caused the water to accumulate.

Additionally, I saw on the local news yesterday that a ship damaged the floodgate in our city.

Yes, our city has a floodgate and pumping station because it's normal here to experience flooding during heavy rain and high tide.

Although that's the case for our city, it's not normal for our house's location to get flooded because it's situated in a high area.

Given that our house got flooded in this case, I am wondering how high the floodwater is in other parts of the city. Since our house is in a high location and doesn't usually flood even during high tide, it's likely that other places in Navotas City near us are already submerged.

One of the problems with flooding during a typhoon is food availability inside the house. It's dangerous to go out because there might be fallen power cables in the floodwater.

We do have some food in the house, at least. During a flood like this, even if you order food delivery, no one would be able to deliver it.

Hopefully, the ocean tide will recede soon so that the water level will go down, and I hope the flood doesn't rise any further.
