Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! Obsidian VS Immortalis

(Edited)

The Battle Mage Ruleset for this week is "Keep Your Distance." In this ruleset, you cannot use any units with melee attacks, your only choices are units with magic, ranged attacks, and buff cards without attacks.

I've been waiting for the "Keep Your Distance" ruleset since yesterday, and after 30+ battles, it finally appeared.

My only problem now is I need to win this battle.

Battle Rules

rules.jpg

  • Keep Your Distance + Equal Opportunity
  • Active Elements: Life, Fire, Earth, and Death
  • Mana Cap: 38

Among the many Battle Mage Secret fights I've played, it's rare to find a battle with a good Mana cap that allows me to position more units.

My Team

image.png

  • Summoner: Obsidian Level 8
    • I used this summoner because it gives +1 Magic attack to all units with magic attacks that it summons.

image.png

  • Tank: Grimbardun Smith Level 2
    • I used this tank because it has high health and I can add magic attack to it.

image.png

  • 2nd: Moxian Rebel Level 2
    • I used this in the second position to give my tank a magic attack using its weapons training ability.

image.png

  • 3rd: Mycelic Slipspawn
    • I used this so that the enemies attack it first because it has the Taunt ability. It also has the Slow ability to slow down the enemy and Force Field, which reduces damage from attacks with power 5 or higher to just 1.

image.png

  • 4th: Goblin Psychic
    • I used this unit to heal my tank in the first position using its Tank Heal ability. Additionally, it has the Silence ability to weaken the enemy's magic attack and the Affliction ability to prevent the enemy from healing if it has a healer.

image.png

  • 5th: Regal Peryton
    • I used this because it has strong magic and high speed, so it attacks first.

image.png

  • 6th: Spirit Hoarder
    • I used this because of its Triage ability, which heals units damaged but not in the first position.

Opponent's Team

image.png

  • Summoner: Immortalis Level 3
    • This summoner is dangerous because it gives Void ability to its units, making magic attacks of 1 ineffective. It also reduces the health of enemy units by 1.

image.png

  • Tank: Chaos Agent Level 6
    • A no-attack unit with Dodge and Phase abilities, meaning the enemy's magic attack can miss.

image.png

  • 2nd: Queen Mycelia Level 2
    • A magic attack unit that adds a shield to friendly units with its Protect ability, but at level 2, it does not have the Triage ability to heal friendly backline units.

image.png

  • 3rd: Supply Runner Level 5
    • A ranged attack unit that increases the speed of friendly units with its Swift ability.

image.png

  • 4th: Magi of Chaos Level 3
    • A magic attack unit with a strong magic attack.

image.png

  • 5th: Goblin Psychic Level 7
    • A magic attack unit with Tank Heal.

image.png

  • 6th: Mycelic Slipspawn Level 4
    • A magic attack unit with the Taunt ability.

Battle Summary

Round 1:

  • In the first round, no units were defeated on either side; all survived, though their health decreased.

Round 2:

  • At the end of round 2, my team defeated their tank, Chaos Agent, and their Mycelic Slipspawn. My units survived thanks to my Spirit Hoarder's Triage ability healing my Mycelic Slipspawn.

Round 3:

  • In round 3, my team defeated the enemy's Queen Mycelia, leaving them with only two attack units as their ranged attack card, Supply Runner, couldn't attack from the first position.
  • My Mycelic Slipspawn and Moxian Rebel were defeated, but my tank, Grimbardun Smith, remained strong and at full health.

Round 4:

  • In this round, the enemy's Supply Runner was defeated, and my units remained strong.

Round 5:

  • In round 5, my team defeated their healer, leaving only one enemy unit, while all my remaining units stayed intact.

Round 6:

  • In this round, my team finally defeated all enemy units and secured the victory.

Conclusion

It's really beneficial to rent Max Level Cards whenever possible, especially for units with important abilities. Many cards gain excellent abilities and increased health as their levels increase. Although renting rebellion cards can be expensive, I have proven that they are highly effective in battles and have significantly changed the gameplay since they were added to the Splinterlands card editions.

I hope you enjoyed my battle and appreciated how I set up my card lineup. Until the next Battle Mage Challenge!
