Hello Splinterlands Summoners. A lot of things happened to our game in 2024. As the year comes to a close, let's look back to the changes in the game this year. I will also share my favorite battle and my goals for next year.

Splinterlands in 2024

There are a lot of positive updates that the team has introduced this year. Among them the soulbound token, Glint and the Glint Shop. Also introduced during the middle of the year was the new set of soulbound reward cards. These cards are quite good and have already taken spots in my battles. Another positive change was the easier onboarding for new players. I hope that this will attract new players to try Splinterlands.

On the financial side, SPS is back to a penny and has increased by more than a hundred percent from its lows, outperforming bitcoin. There have also been promo cards that were sinks for vouchers and DEC like Heloise the Hollow which is very successful.

These positive changes shows that the team is on the right track to improving and reinvigorating the game. I hope this continues going forward.

Favorite Battle

Favorite battle for the year is very difficult to pick. I have plenty of fun and enjoyable battles I have shared this year in my posts and I can't pick one that I like most. So I will choose one battle featuring my favorite reward card, Olivia the Brook. She is a very unique card that I can't recall any other card that have her ability.

This battle is a long one because of the Equalizer and Born Again rulesets. The longer the battle, the more abilities Olivia copies and makes her more powerful. In this battle, she displays how strong she can be as she copies abilities of her opponents.

Goals for 2025

I am excited for the future of Splinterlands. Next year, a new set will be introduced to replace the Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers sets. This means new meta, new teams and synergies. Players will have to learn new strategies to maximize the potential of each card. This also means new cards to collect and trade. I'm already accumulating DEC and will buy the new packs when they come out.

Conclusion

The play to earn gaming scene has seen a lot of headwinds. On the contrary, Splinterlands weathered some challenges but is still going strong. 2025 will be a good year for Splinterlands as I expect new challenges and fun battles along with the influx of new players.
