From the Rising of the Sun - LOH Community Contest #174

The rising of the sun brings with it many new opportunities, there for the taking, but we need to be mindful, grab them, and not let them slip us by.

Getting up at daybreak is the only way to see the sunrise, the perfect way to start any day, and squeeze out as much of it till the sun goes down.

To me, that means no time for procrastinating if you want to make things happen, as tomorrow may never come.

This particular sunrise is a familiar sight at one of our favourite seaside resorts on the east coast of South Africa. If I had a good camera and was not just using my cellphone, I would have captured that ship sailing past as the sun came up, so much better.

Kind of symbolic that we need to get to the starting line on time, and not miss the race called life, to reach that finish line.

Watching the sunset at the end of a busy day, has me contemplating the day's achievements, the things I could not get done, and at times those failures that inevitably happen. It's also a time of rest, recharge, and be ready for the sunrise with new opportunities, a chance to try again.

My favourite?

Not an easy answer, everything changed with the loss of my soulmate.
The sunset now heralds in alone-time when the door closes at night, but also brings with it blissful sleep, when I can forget the big hole in my life.
However, both the sunrise and the sunset represent good things; new beginnings, happy endings, or simply a time to recuperate.

One sure thing in life is that just as the seasons come and go, the sun will always rise, full of promises, and so will it set at the close of day; a neverending circle of life, filled with possibilities for us to explore!

I'm a little late with my entry, but hope that I made it in time for this week's Ladies of Hive Community Contest #174 as I could not resist this question:
