My first boat journey experience

Hi hive, it's nice to meet you again. I'm here to share my first boat experience. It was a bit scary but it was one of the most exciting moment I ever had.

My first experience was when I traveled with my friend from uyo to Calabar for my in-laws reception ceremony. At first I was nervous and excited at the same time. I've never travel on a boat before.

It was on Sunday around seven o'clock in the morning when we boarded a taxi from uyo to oron park to meet up with the first speed boat. when we got there, we collected ticket. I was told that Sunday might not be one of the best days to travel on waterway. But I doubted until when I realized it myself. We waited for other passengers for more than an hour. The wait was longer than I anticipated. The turn up of passengers didn't gain momentum until twenty minutes to zoom off that people started coming in. We were all given a lifejacket to put on, I strapped mine round my chest. We all moved into the boat and I was helped into the boat by my friend. What I observed was that a piece of plank wood was used as seats in a speed boat. We all settled in, four persons in a seat. Other by lookers and drivers helped push the boat into the river. After that, the driver start the engine and we zoomed off.

The journey started slowly until it got to the faster speed. Getting to the middle of the sea, it was cold. Different thought started flowing through my mind like; if the boat turns upsidedown, will I survive it when I can't swim. I couldn't even snapped nor enjoyed it anymore. I started praying that I should make it to Calabar safely. The officials were not on duty because it was Sunday, so there was no delay on our journey. Within a twinkle of an eye, we were at the river bank. It took us forty-five minutes to travel from oron to Calabar.

One of the things I love most about traveling on boat is that it is one of the fastest of transportation. It's always shorter than traveling on land.
Despite some of the discomfort and fear, it was an exciting journey on water.

Hi @lissombassey,
Great to see you using the #travelfeed tag! We launched the #travelfeed curated tag more than 3 years ago and have been supporting the best travel blogs on Hive ever since. But did you know that TravelFeed has evolved? Based on the feedback of thousands of Hive travel bloggers we created TravelFeed.io.

TravelFeed.io brings together all the benefits of Hive decentralized blogging with features that you as a travel blogger will love: Photo galleries, Instagram embeds, custom maps and more. We also offer many of the features you love on Peakd such as drafts and post scheduling. And if you want, you can even use our easy site builder to set up your own travel blog on your own domain which can be a great way to generate a passive income from your blog!

Unfortunately, focussing on developing the best platform for travelers means that we no longer curate the #travelfeed tag. But, you can log in with your Hive account on TravelFeed.io to publish your next travel post, and it will be posted to Hive automatically! Every day, we select the best posts and reward them with an upvote and added visibility.

We would love to see you on TravelFeed.io soon :)

Hi @lissombassey. I see you're new on Hive, so let me drop you a few suggestions to help you navigate better on our platform.

We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post. This post for example would fit better in Daily Blog community.

OCD is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse! Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.
