Every region undoubtedly has historic sites that carry unique stories and significance. One such site is the Kaibon Palace in Banten Lama, located precisely in Kampung Kroya, Kasunyatan Village, Kasemen District, Serang. Most writers describe the Kaibon Palace as a ruin, a remnant of Banten Lama's glorious past.

But what if we changed our perspective? Instead of viewing it as ruins, why not see it as a hidden beauty? After all, beauty and ugliness, good and bad—these qualities depend on our perspective, even though there are general standards by which we tend to judge things. Shifting perspectives allows us to appreciate something from different angles, preventing quick, harsh judgments.

It’s worth noting that Kaibon Palace is the second palace in Banten after the Surosowan Palace. Built in 1815, it was designated as one of the cultural heritage sites of Banten Province by the Minister of Education and Culture's Decree No. 139/M/1998 on June 15, 1998.
