Grilled Fish with Homemade Coconut Oil 🥥

A trip to Bolsel Regency, North Sulawesi (Sulut), wouldn't be complete without trying grilled fish at Sondana Beach. There are about 11 restaurants at Sondana Beach that serve grilled fish. The grilled fish at Sondana Beach is different from other places. Here, the fish is fried with homemade coconut oil, a specialty of the Bolsel locals.

The same goes for the sambal (chili sauce) prepared for customers. Everything is made using coconut oil produced by the sellers.

The grilled fish at Sondana Beach is sold starting at IDR 35,000 per fish. However, this price already includes white rice and vegetables prepared by the vendors. The grilled fish at Sondana Beach has a unique taste. Rani, one of the vendors, said she prepares 30-50 kilograms of fish daily.
