Olá pessoal! Hoje vim aqui não só pra falar, mas também pra mostrar a vocês como foi a apresentação de uma das coreografias que fiz para meus alunos dançarem na festa de final de ano que aconteceu no ultimo dia 10 de dezembro.

No final do ano é época de comemorarmos e mostrarmos o que os alunos aprenderam durante o ano e fazemos algumas apresentações para mostrar isso aos amigos e familiares. Foi uma festa incrível mas hoje vim aqui falar apenas da coreografia de Bolero, que foi apenas uma pequena parte desse espetáculo

Então vamos ao que interessa.

A coreografia

A coreografia foi montada em cima da musica 2 bicudos da Ana Carolina, uma música que fala de um relacionamento difícil, traição e um amor avassalador de tirar o sono. Ao coreografar para esse grupo tentei contar através da dança essa historia do amor entre dois bicudos. A troca de par representando a traição e a volta no final pro amor avassalador.

A coreografia foi dançada por 8 casais a maioria meus alunos e alguns da equipe que ajuda nas aulas. Dentre eles tinham alunos de todos os níveis, desde iniciantes até mais avançados. Ensaiamos desde o mês de outubro até dezembro, sendo os ensaios oficiais uma vez por semana e tendo alguns ensaios extras.

A maior dificuldade durante todos os ensaios foi de reunir o grupo completo, tivemos apenas 1 ensaio com todos os dançarinos presente, todos os outros sempre faltou algum. Isso dificultou bastante o trabalho mas no final das contas fiquei bem satisfeito com o trabalho final e fiquei muito orgulhoso dos alunos.

A música

A música foi escolhida por 3 principais motivos, primeiro para acabar com o estigma que boleros precisam ser dançados em músicas lentas, esse é um bolero onde ritmo é relativamente rápido, principalmente comparado a outros boleros. Segundo motivo foi por conta da historia que pode ser contada através dela, pra mim fica muito mais fácil coreografar quando consigo entender e passar os sentimentos para o publico. O terceiro motivo é que eu gosto bastante das músicas desse estilo em que a Ana Carolina canta por não ser tradicionalmente um bolero e pra mim, isso mostra o quanto o bolero pode ser interessante e dançado com diversos tipos de música.

Como já disse antes tivemos contratempos e dificuldades para ter ensaio com todos os dançarinos presentes e isso atrasou bastante o andamento da coreografia e desenvolvimento dos dançarinos. Por isso precisei finalizar a coreografia em um trecho anterior da música do que esperava, cortando o final da música. Fiz o melhor corte que consegui mas não sou expert quando se trata de cortes de música, então não ficou muito bom, na verdade essa foi a única parte dessa apresentação que me incomodou, como a música foi finalizada.

At the end of the year it's time to celebrate and show what the students have learned during the year and we put on a few performances to show our friends and family. It was an incredible party, but today I'm just going to talk about the Bolero choreography, which was only a small part of the show

So let's get down to business.

The choreography

The choreography was based on the song 2 bicudos by Ana Carolina, a song that talks about a difficult relationship, betrayal and an overwhelming love that takes you to sleep. When choreographing for this group, I tried to tell this story of the love between two bicudos through dance. The exchange of pairs representing betrayal and the return in the end to overwhelming love.

The choreography was danced by 8 couples, most of them my students and some of the staff who help with the classes. Among them were students of all levels, from beginners to more advanced. We rehearsed from October until December, with official rehearsals once a week and a few extra rehearsals.

The biggest difficulty during all the rehearsals was getting the whole group together; we only had one rehearsal with all the dancers present, all the others were always missing someone. This made the work very difficult, but in the end I was very pleased with the final work and very proud of the students.

The music

The song was chosen for 3 main reasons, firstly to break the stigma that boleros need to be danced to slow music, this is a bolero where the rhythm is relatively fast, especially compared to other boleros. The second reason was because of the story that can be told through it, for me it's much easier to choreograph when I can understand and convey the feelings to the audience. The third reason is that I really like the songs in this style that Ana Carolina sings because they are not traditionally boleros and, for me, this shows how interesting boleros can be danced with different types of music.

As I said before, we had setbacks and difficulties in rehearsing with all the dancers present and this delayed the progress of the choreography and the development of the dancers. That's why I had to finish the choreography at an earlier point in the song than I had expected, cutting the end of the song. I made the best cut I could, but I'm not an expert when it comes to cutting music, so it wasn't very good, in fact that was the only part of this performance that bothered me, how the song was finished.
