A great meeting !!! After 37 years / Un gran encuentro !!! Después de 37 años

Hello friends of Family & Friends, I am in this community because I want to share with you a very exciting meeting, which I attended on Saturday. A few months ago we began to contact each other by WhatsApp the 1986 graduates of the Luis Augusto Turcios Limas Pre-University Institute, in Ceiba del Agua , belonging to the province Artemisa, Cuba. If you have counted you will have already determined that 37 years have passed. Well we have managed to meet by WhatsApp about 35, the meeting we could attend 23 and it was crazy, a huge outpouring of affection, affection, love and memories.

We had been planning to meet for a month, is that as it was a scholarship school, we all lived very distant, in fact I myself live in Havana which although close, is another province and the remaining live in different municipalities many kilometers away, for that same geographical situation when we finished this level of education we all dispersed to continue, some higher studies and others working life, in my particular case, I had only seen two of the graduates of that level of education, therefore having the opportunity to meet was a burst of energy.

Hola amigos de Family & Friends, estoy en esta comunidad porque quiero compartir con ustedes un encuentro muy emocionante, al cual asistí el sábado. Hace unos meses comenzamos a contactarnos por WhatsApp los graduados en 1986 del Instituto Preuniversitario Luis Augusto Turcios Limas, en Ceiba del Agua , perteneciente a la provincia Artemisa, Cuba. Si han contado ya habrán determinado que han pasado 37 años. Bueno hemos logrado reunirnos por WhatsApp unos 35 , al encuentro pudimos asistir 23 y fue una locura , un derroche enorme de cariño , afecto , amor y recuerdos.

Llevábamos un mes planeando reunirnos, es que como era una escuela becada, todos vivíamos muy distantes, de hecho yo misma vivo en La Habana que aunque cerca, es otra provincia y los restantes viven en diferentes municipios a muchos kilómetros de distancia, por esa misma situación geográfica cuando terminamos este nivel de enseñanza todos nos dispersamos para continuar, unos estudios superiores y otros la vida laboral, en mi caso particular, solo había visto a dos de los graduados de ese nivel de enseñanza, por lo tanto tener la oportunidad de reunirnos fue un estallido de energía.

Since we created the group on WhatsApp our minds began to flow memories, we began to send photos and gradually we remember those years of youth we lived together, we were in those years boys between 15 and 17 years we spent the week together and only went home on weekends, how many beautiful experiences crowded in our minds. In those years we lived our first loves, fears, joys, sorrows and learning. During the weeks we had each other for small and daily things, we studied, danced, laughed and cried, we were like a big family, so we had to see each other! .

Desde que creamos el grupo en WhatsApp por nuestras mentes comenzaron a fluir los recuerdos, comenzamos a enviarnos fotos y poco a poco recordamos esos años de juventud que vivimos juntos, éramos en esos años chicos entre 15 y 17 años pasábamos la semana juntos y solo íbamos a casa los fines de semana, cuantas experiencias hermosas se agolparon en nuestras mentes. En esos años vivimos nuestros primeros amores, miedos, alegrías, tristezas y aprendizajes. Durante las semanas nos teníamos el uno al otro para las cosas pequeñas y cotidianas, estudiábamos, bailábamos, reíamos y llorábamos, éramos como una gran familia, así que ¡teníamos que vernos! .

Finally the meeting took place last Saturday in a gastronomic recreational center called Castillo de Jagua, located on the corner of 23rd and G in the central area of Vedado Havana. As most of the attendees were from the province of Artemisa, they rented a bus and charted a route, I live quite close to the meeting place. On the way to the meeting place my palms were sweating and my heart was about to burst. What nerves !!!! .😉🤪

When I arrived my voice was a trickle, I could hardly speak, but the strong embrace of so many good friends who welcomed me, many with tears, others with nervous laughter and all that explosion of emotions calmed my nerves and in 10 minutes we were all laughing, all talking at the same time, we wanted to tell each other everything we had lived for more than 30 years, it was crazy! We showed each other pictures of our children, some of the grandchildren, in short, 😅😅.

Finalmente la reunión tuvo lugar el pasado sábado en un centro recreativo gastronómico llamado Castillo de Jagua, ubicado en la esquina de 23 y G en la zona central del Vedado habanero. Como la mayoría de los asistentes eran de la provincia de Artemisa, alquilaron un ómnibus y trazaron una ruta, yo vivo bastante cerca del lugar del encuentro. De camino al lugar del encuentro me sudaban las palmas de las manos y el corazón estaba a punto de estallar. ¡¡¡¡Qué nervios !!!! .😉🤪

Cuando llegué mi voz era un hilito, casi no podía hablar, pero el fuerte abrazo de tantos buenos amigos que me recibieron, muchos con lágrimas, otros con risas nerviosas y toda esa explosión de emociones calmó mis nervios y en 10 minutos estábamos todos riendo, todos hablando al mismo tiempo, queríamos contarnos todo lo que habíamos vivido durante más de 30 años, ¡era una locura! Nos enseñamos fotos de nuestros hijos, algunas de los nietos, en fin, 😅😅.

We had the staff in the restaurant going crazy until Crisálida, who is the organizer, was always the most active, she was the one who made the orders, they set long tables, we had the whole room occupied, some brought their children, but I am sure that we were the ones who looked younger, everything was laughter and joy, all the feelings overflowed.

Teníamos al personal que atiende en el local enloquecidos hasta que Crisálida, que es la organizadora, siempre fue la más activa, era la que hacía los pedidos, pusieron mesas largas, teníamos todo el salón ocupado, algunos trajeron a sus hijos, pero estoy segura que éramos los que parecíamos más jóvenes, todo era risas y alegría, todos los sentimientos se desbordaban.

After lunch Yamiry, who is very detailed, brought a cake and we sang congratulations for the union, Amarilis brought a bottle of cider to make a small symbolic toast. Anais contributed with a frame to take pictures of us inside it, we wanted to do everything at the same time, it has been one of the best meetings between friends, that's why I wanted to share it with you. Of course we will repeat and I hope we do not lose the link again, now in these times there are better ways of communication.

Después de comer Yamiry, que es muy detallista, trajo una cake y cantamos felicitaciones por la unión, Amarilis trajo una botella de sidra para hacer un pequeño brindis simbólico. Anais aportó un marco para hacernos fotos dentro de él, queríamos hacerlo todo a la vez, ha sido una de las mejores reuniones entre amigos, por eso quería compartirlo con vosotros. Por supuesto que repetiremos y espero que no volvamos a perder el vínculo, ahora en estos tiempos hay mejores formas de comunicación.
