Preparations

Hi!

As I mentioned it in a previous post, I am sharing today some of the steps of preparing the bride for the wedding day.

These preparations last for hours and many people are involved, also, there is certain mentality to the who process and those wedding last really long, for days.

Covering or that's more like plastering the face of the bride in white so later unique decorations are added.

You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by the monochromes account and community and supported by the qurator account, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!

Lovely photos!!! Bridal pics, used to do a lot of those too!
I see you are using a 7artisan lens on you canon gear? How do you like it? I’m considering buying one as well, but am a bit worried about sharpness…

Thank you!
I usually don't shoot weddings and this one is quite different from the others I've attended to.

That 7artisan lens I have, it has a soul but if sharpness is very important to you, don't waste your money on it. The images are rarely sharp :) If between f/7.1 and f/9 they are acceptable but what's the point of having f/1.2 then?
Still, I think it's good value for its price.

Lol! Ok! Thank you very much for your honest info! Yeah, sharpness at low light would indeed be the single reason why I would buy it. So not going to do that. Then the 50 1.4 is a much better option (which I also have and love)

This one is straight from the camera, no editing apart from RAW to JPEG.

That's at f/1.2 practically no light only few ambient light sources you see the ring of light, that's another problem in low light and multiple sources ;)

I tested Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM and it was great but there are several reasons why the price is like 25 times bigger, literally :)

We used to have the 50 f1.2, when we were still doing full time weddings. And back then, the price was definitely justifiable. At this moment, unfortunately, not so easily anymore…

I suppose you're speaking about EF 50/1.2 which is around EUR1600 at the moment, it's still an awesome lens, so many years since its release.
I tested the RF, for the mirrorless mount, the new one, I think it's about EUR2600. Nice pricing by Canon, as usual :D

Yes indeed, was referring to the EF version, used to use it on the 5dmk2. Now with the R5, I’d also go for the RF version, but indeed… that price!!!
