While this tradition is considered archaic at the most of the modern Bulgarian weddings, here it still exists.

I recall photos of weddings, 40, 50 years back when it was mostly black and white photography and it was a part of the ceremony for the newly weds to take photos with the strings of banknotes hanging on them.

To be honest, I never liked this, as it admits money would be the most important part of the future family?

Anyway, at least the bride is leading the round dance so there is no doubt who the boss of the family is, already! :)))
