Walking through the streets of Santiago - Caminando por las calles de Santiago//ENG/ESP

Yesterday I had the opportunity to walk the streets of Santiago. I remembered how beautiful and organized they were.

The streets have sides where the public transport buses pass, in fact private vehicles can not travel on that side during the day at certain specific times.

One of the things I like the most about this city, is that you can see where you are standing, since on every corner you can see the names of the streets with their respective numbers. And on each sign it tells you from what number to what number that block is, so if you are looking for an address, you can quickly know where it is!

This helped me a lot at first so I didn't get lost, as it is so big and so busy downtown that sometimes I didn't know which way to turn. Another interesting thing is that the even numbers will always be on one side, and the odd numbers on the other side of the street. I find this organization technique very interesting. Ayer tuve la oportunidad de caminar por las calles de Santiago. Recordé lo bonitas y organizadas que eran.

Las calles tienen lados por donde pasan los buses de transporte público, de hecho los vehículos particulares no pueden transitar por ese lado en el día a ciertas horas específicas.

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de esta ciudad, es que puedes ver dónde estás parado, ya que en todas las esquinas observas los nombres de las calles con sus respectivos números. Y en cada aviso te dice de qué número a qué número es esa cuadra, por lo que si estás buscando una dirección, puedes saber rápidamente hacia dónde está!

Esto me ayudó mucho al principio para no perderme, ya que es tan grande y tan concurrido el centro que a veces no sabía para dónde agarrar. Otra cosa interesante es que los números pares siempre estarán en un mismo lado, y los impares, del otro lado de la calle. Me parece muy interesante esta técnica de organización.
