Splinterlands Rulesets and My Preferred Card Combinations: Shades of Gray and Arkemis The Bear + Junker
I play on Splinterlands since September 2019 so I have been playing battles and having fun on Splinterlands for more than 5 years.
In five years I have played more than 31000 battles and I have never used bots.
I am not a top player on Splinterlands but I like to play manually and for that reason I like to play only in the Modern Format where there are no bots and where I play prevalently in Gold leagues and sometimes I can also play in Diamond leagues.
Splinterlands is a fun game because is a card strategy game, becouse every battle is different because the opponents change and because the combinations of rulesets also change, which can either amplify a card's usefulness in battle or reduce it.
Today, with this post I begin writing a series of posts in which I will share the card combinations I prefer to use in battles that have precise rulesets.
I hope my posts can be useful especially to new players to understand the game dynamics of Splinterlands and I hope they can be useful to me as well because my readers/players of Splinterlands could give me suggestions on how to improve my strategies.

Among the many rulesets there is the Shades of Gray ruleset that limits the use of the cards selectable because only cards of the neutral element can be sent into battle.
When the ruleset is Shades of Gray there is a combination of cards that I use very frequently:
- Arkemis the Bear level 10 (first position)
- Junker level 6 (second position)
I use this card combination because these two cards have statistics and abilities that play well together especially because:
Arkemis the Bear has the Protect ability that gives +2 armor points to itself and all friendly cards.
Junker has the Repair ability that restores armor points.
In my opinion between the two cards the most useful and versatile is Arkemis the Bear because it has four interesting abilities (Protect, Halving, Forcefield, Enrage) and in fact I use Junker almost exclusively in battles with the Shades of Gray ruleset while I also use Arkemis the Bear in battles that have other rulesets.
Today, September 25, 2024, buying Arkemis the Bear of maximum level costs $19.90
Buying Junker of maximum level has a cost of $23.80
Having both maximum level cards has a total cost = 43.7$
A good compromise to reduce the total cost and have both cards is in my opinion the combination I have: Arkemis the Bear (level 10) + Junker (level 6).
In this case the total cost is: 26.28$
Hiring Arkemis the Bear (max level) and Junker (level 8) has a total daily cost of 10,878 DEC + 8,355 DEC = 19.23 DEC
Today there are no rentable level 10 regular version Junkers.
I like to buy cards that have rare abilities and I bought level 6 Junker because Junker is one of only four cards of the neutral element that has the Repair ability and can be used in the Modern Format.
Among the neutral cards that can be purchased and used in the Modern Format Arkemis the Bear is the only card that has the Protect, Forcefield and Halving abilities.
This is why I consider Arkemis The Bear a must buy and why I upgraded to the top level a long time ago.
Now I move from theory to practice and show you 3 of my latest battles with the Shades of Gray ruleset in which I used the card combination Arkemis the Bear + Junker.
In the battle I played a few days ago the rulesets were Shaes of Gray, Heavy Hitters and Earthquake.
The combination of ruleset Shades of Gray and Earthquake is particularly functional for the Protect and Repair abilities of Arkemis the Bear and Junker.
Unfortunately, I have no neutral cards with the Stun ability because in this battle using at least one card with this ability is a must.
In this battle I could only choose from summoners of the Life element and I chose Grandmaster Rathe because of its Void Armor ability that can protect my cards more from magical attacks in particular.
In this battle Arkemis The Bear and Junker were useful but not decisive because the key to my battle victory was using 3 cards with magic attack and putting in last position my only card immune to Earthquake ruleset but Arkemis The Bear and Junker were still two useful cards in the battle also because Junker's Repair ability allowed Arkemis the Bear to absorb an extra enemy attack protecting other cards.
In the next battle the rulesets are Shades of Gray, Aimless and Born Again.
The Aimless ruleset reduces the usefulness of the Arkemis the Bear + Junker combination because it reduces the “wall” functionality to protect cards from the third position onward but Arkemis the Bear and Junker were still two important cards to win the battle and in fact Junker survives the entire battle.
In the next battle the rulesets are Shades of Gray, Weak Magic and Aim True.
The Shatter ability conferred by the opposing summoner on all enemy cards reduces the usefulness of the Repair and Protect abilities, but Arkemis the Bear and Junker still manage to protect friendly cards until round 4, and the battle ends with my victory.
In the last 5 battles with the Shades of Gray ruleset in which I have used the card combination Arkemis The Bear + Junker I have won 4 out of 5 times proving that this card combination plays well in this ruleset.

In cinque anni ho giocato più di 31000 battaglie e non ho mai usato bots.
Non sono un top players su Splinterlands ma mi piace giocare manualmente e per questo motivo mi piace giocare solo nel Modern Format dove non ci sono bots e dove gioco prevalentemente nelle leghe Gold e qualche volta riesco anche a giocare nelle leghe Diamond.
Splinterlands è un gioco divertente perchè ogni battaglia è diversa perchè gli avversari cambiano e perchè cambiano anche le combinazioni di rulesets che possono amplificare l'utilità in battaglia di una carta oppure ridurla.
Oggi, con questo post inizio a scrivere una serie di post in cui condividerò le combinazioni di carte che preferisco utilizzare in battaglie che hanno precise rulesets.
Spero che i miei post possano essere utili soprattutto ai nuovi giocatori per capire le dinamiche di gioco di Splinterlands e spero che possano essere utili anche a me perchè i miei lettori/giocatori di Splinterlands potrebbero darmi dei suggerimenti su come migliorare le mie strategie.

Tra le tante rulesets c'è la ruleset Shades of Gray che limita l'utilizzo delle carte sceglibili perchè solo le carte dell'elemento neutrale possono essere mandate in battaglia.
Quando la ruleset è Shades of Gray c'è una combinazione di carte che uso molto frequentemente:
- Arkemis the Bear livello 10 (prima posizione)
- Junker livello 6 (seconda posizione)
Uso questa combinazione di carte perchè queste due carte hanno statistiche e abilità che giocano bene insieme soprattutto perchè:
Arkemis the Bear ha l'abilità Protect che conferisce +2 punti armatura a se stessa e a tutte le carte amiche.
Junker ha l'abilità Repair che ripristina i punti armatura
Secondo me tra le due carte la più utile e versatile è Arkemis the Bear perchè ha quattro interessanti abilità (Protect, Halving, Forcefield, Enrage) e infatti io utilizzo Junker quasi esclusivamente nelle battaglie con la ruleset Shades of Gray mentre utilizzo Arkemis the Bear anche in battaglie che hanno altre rulesets.
Oggi 25 settembre 2024 acquistare Arkemis the Bear di livello massimo ha un costo di 19.90$
Acquistare Junker di livello massimo ha un costo di 23.80$
Avere entrambe le carte di massimo livello ha un costo totale = 43.7$
Un buon compromesso per ridurre il costo totale e avere entrambe le carte è secondo me la combinazione che ho io: Arkemis the Bear (livello 10) + Junker (livello 6)
In questo caso il costo totale è: 26.28$
Noleggiare Arkemis the Bear (livello max) e Junker (livello 8) ha un costo totale giornaliero di 10.878 DEC + 8.355 DEC = 19.23 DEC
Non ci sono Junker di livello 10 regular version noleggiabili.
Mi piace acquistare carte che hanno abilità rare e ho acquistato Junker di livello 6 perchè Junker è una delle sole quattro carte dell'emento neutrale ad avere l'abilità Repair e che può essere utilizzata nel Modern Format.
Tra le carte neutrali acquistabili e utilizzabili nel Modern Format Arkemis the Bear è l'unica carta che ha le abilità Protect, Forcefield e Halving
Per questo motivo considero Arkemis The Bear un must buy e per questo motivo ho fatto l'upgrade al livello massimo molto tempo fa.
Adesso passo dalla teoria alla pratica e ti mostro 3 delle mie ultime battaglie con la ruleset Shades of Gray in cui ho utilizzato la combinazione di carte Arkemis the Bear + Junker.
Nella battaglia che ho giocato qualche giorno fa le rulesets erano Shaes of Gray, Heavy Hitters e Earthquake.
La combinazione di ruleset Shades of Gray e Earthquake è particolarmente funzionale alle abilità Protect e Repair di Arkemis the Bear e Junker.
Putroppo non ho carte neutrali con l'abilità Stun perchè in questa battaglia utilizzare almeno una carta con questa abilità è un must.
In questa battaglia potevo scegliere solo tra gli evocatori dell'elemento Life e ho scelto Grandmaster Rathe per la sua abilità Void Armor in grado di proteggere maggiormente le mie carte in particolare dagli attacchi magici.
In questa battaglia Arkemis The Bear e Junker sono state utili ma non determinanti perchè la chiave della mia vittoria in battaglia è stata utilizzare 3 carte con attacco magico e mettere in ultima posizione la mia unica carta immune dalla ruleset Earthquake ma Arkemis The Bear e Junker sono state comunque due carte utili in battaglia anche perchè l'abilità Repair di Junker ha permesso ad Arkemis the Bear di assorbire un attacco nemico in più proteggendo le altre carte.
Nella prossima battaglia le ruleset sono Shades of Gray, Aimless e Born Again.
La ruleset Aimless riduce l'utilità della combinazione Arkemis the Bear + Junker perchè riduce la funzionalità di "muro" per proteggere le carte dalla terza posizione in poi ma Arkemis the Bear e Junker sono state comunque due carte importanti per vincere la battaglia e infatti Junker sopravvive per tutta la battalgia.
Nella prossima battaglia le rulesets sono Shades of Gray, Weak Magic e Aim True.
L'abilità Shatter conferita dall'evocatore avversario a tutte le carte nemiche riduce l'utilità delle abilità Repair e Protect ma Arkemis the Bear e Junker riescono comunque a proteggere le carte amiche fino al round 4 e la battaglia termina con una mia vittoria.
Nelle ultime 5 battaglie con la ruleset Shades of Gray in cui ho utilizzato la combinazione di carte Arkemis The Bear + Junker ho vinto 4 volte su 5 a dimostrazione che questa combinazione di carte gioca bene in questa ruleset.

Neutral games are difficult to play and that's probably because of the fewer cards you need to actually form your strategy.
The Arkemis at level 10 is unbelievable, at its great investment too.
Congratulations on that win, the opponent didn't have enough health to win the game
yes friend, neutral card battles are more difficult than others because there are fewer cards to choose from especially in modern.
Arkemis is a must buy in my opinion
