Golem Overlord: My First 6 Days Of Play and My Investment Strategy
Readers of my Hive blog know well my passion for blockchain-based games and also my passion for Hive which is my favorite blockchain project.
On April 20, 2023 I added another game to the list of Hive games in which I am an active player: Golem Overlord.
Golem Overlord is the 14th Hive game I have decided to invest in and it is also the second idle game I have joined in a 1-month time period.
In fact, on March 23 I started playing on Terracore and on April 20 I started playing on Golem Overlord.
On Terracore I have already written and published 3 posts (you can read the posts by clicking on the 3 links below) and I have also reached the break-even point after only 26 days of playing and thus I have practically transformed Terracore from a play-to-earn game to a free-to-play game.
Golem Overlord has many features similar to Terracore because, as also clearly written in the Whitepaper, it was precisely inspired by Terracore.
Golem Overlord also has several elements that differ it from Terracore such as some choices related to the tokenomics of the game.
What is Golem Overlord?
Golem Overlord is thus an idle game developed on the Hive blockchain by https://splex.gg/ which is a container of useful tools for Splinterlands.
The game is very easy to play because the Whitepaper is very clear and detailed and because almost all elements of the game are explained in detail via information windows that appear automatically simply by placing the mouse pointer over them.
In the following image you can see the main screen of Golem Overlord.
On Golem Overlord you must mine PART tokens, the game's native tokens, which are needed to improve your game stats and survive in the game.
The game statistics are displayed in the table at the top left of the main screen.

The PART token is a second-level token on the Hive blockchain and can be transferred, bought and sold by one of Hive's second-level token dexes such as:
Today April 26, 2023 1 token PART has a value of:
- 2.35209599 SWAP.HIVE = $0.9855282 (Lowest Ask)
- 2.30733100 SWAP.HIVE = $0.9667717 (Highest Bid)
The first time I looked at the PART token chart I was positively impressed by the trading volume which is very high considering that Golem Overload is a game that is less than a month old.
Golem Overlord is a game that already has a good number of active players as you can see from the graph viewable by clicking on Statistic at the bottom right of the main page.
There are almost 10K players although they may not all be unique players because on Golem Overlord it is possible and allowed to create multiple accounts.
I personally prefer games that prohibit creating multiple accounts but I like the choice of not allowing BOTs.
Golem Overlord also has a second token, the SHARD token which is a second level Hive token just like the PART token but currently has no use cases but as announced by @golem.overlord it will be useful in the future when the crates and NFTs of the game are released.

Requirements
To start playing on Golem Overlord:
1. You must have a Hive account.
If you don't have a Hive account you can create one by following some simple steps.
I wrote two step-by-step guides in which I showed how to create a Hive account via:2. You need to install the Hive Keychain extension for your browser.

- 3. You must pay a membership fee (Golemancer Staff) of: 40 SWAP.HIVE

My strategy in my first 6 days of play
I started playing on Golem Overlord on April 20, 2023 when the entry fee was 30 SWAP.HIVE while today it has been increased to 40 SWAP.HIVE.
Right after I signed up on Golem Overlord I received 3 PART in my in-game wallet.
I immediately made the claim because I didn't realize that I had 1 hour of protection from attacks.
In fact on Golem Overlord the PART tokens in your in-game wallet can be stolen by other players until you make the Claim.
If you start playing on Golem Overlord I recommend that you wait a few minutes before the end of your initial protection before making the first claim so you can have more PARTs to start improving your game stats.
In my strategy of investing in Golem Overlord, I decided not to buy PARTs from https://hive-engine.com/trade/PART to see if I could grow and improve in the game only by paying the registration fee and not making any further investments.
You can claim every 8 hours and when you make the claim the PART tokens are sent to your Hive Engine Wallet where they are safe and cannot be stolen by other players.
It is possible to reduce the claim waiting time by upgrading the Algorithm statistic and starting at upgrade level 7.
After my first claim the next three claims were much smaller than the first claim because with the initial game stats I was an easy target for other players' attacks.
My first upgrade was to increase the Fortification statistic from level 1 to level 2 (cost 1 PART) to increase my level of defense from attacks.
In the following image you can see the time sequence of the upgrades I have done so far.
In the following image you can see my current game statistics.
I mainly focused on improving the Fortification statistic.
My claims got bigger and bigger as I increased my defenses because I received progressively fewer attacks and before my last claim I had no attacks.
I consider all idle games more investments than games and Golem Overlord also belongs to this category being an idle game.
In idle games my investment strategy is always the same and it is a strategy I have been following for quite some time:
- In a first phase I invest and improve my game stats.
- In a second phase I plan and try to reach the break-even point considering only game rewards.
- In the third phase the real fun begins for me because it means that I have transformed a play to earn into a free to play and I can continue to play and invest without worries.
I will also follow the same strategy on Golem Overlord with one modification:
- as long as the value of PART tokens is as high as it is now and as long as the number of players continues to grow I will use 75% of the PARTs earned to increase my play stats
- I will sell 25% of the obtained PART tokens to reach the break even point and recover the registration cost.
- when I have recovered the registration cost I will use 25% of the PART tokens to make Power Up on HIVE.
Generally in idle games I reinvest only 50% of the earnings back into the game but in the case of Golem Overlord I will reinvest 75% because in Golem Overlord there is an interesting mechanism that incentivizes reinvesting earnings: penalties.
In fact the player who reinvests less than 75% of the earned PART tokens receives a reduction in earnings.
In just over 6 days of play, I have earned a total of 35.67 PART whose market value (Highest Bid) is 82.30 HIVE = $33.16
This is really a very good result from a financial point of view because I invested 30 SWAP.HIVE and obtained a total value of game rewards of 82.30 SWAP.HIVE in only 6 days which, however, I used 95.32% to improve my game statistics.
Each time I make the claim I also have a 55% chance of getting 1 SHARD token and to date I have accumulated 8 SHARD whose market value is 9.04 SWAP.HIVE which is a little less than 33% of the cost I incurred to sign up on Golem Overlord.
For the time being, I have no plans to sell the SHARD tokens and will evaluate this possibility when they have at least one use case.
Final Considerations
My first impression and and evaluation of Golem Overlord is very positive both from the play and financial side.
The game is simple to understand and easy to play thanks to a detailed whitepaper and explanatory windows of the game elements.
If the value of PART tokens will remain stable or increase in the coming days I will reach the break-even point in a few days...
It is just my personal opinion but PART tokens and SHARD tokens have very high market values in my opinion. These values may continue to rise in the coming days especially if the number of players grows.
But based on my personal past experience in idle games I believe that these values will tend to decrease in the medium to long term as it often happened and happens in idle games.
For this reason my investment strategy on Golem Overlord will always be a strategy based on the short term and will be very much influenced by two elements that I consider important in all idle games:
- the number of active players
- the value of the game tokens

Golem Overlord: Le mie prime impressioni e la mia strategia di investimento dopo 6 giorni di gioco
I lettori del mio Hive blog conoscono bene la mia passione per i giochi basati su blockchain e anche la mia passione per Hive che dopo quattro anni dalla creazione del mio account è ancora il mio progetto blockchain preferito.
Il 20 aprile 2023 ho aggiunto un altro gioco alla lista degli Hive games in cui sono un giocatore attivo: Golem Overlord.
Golem Overlord è il 14° Hive game in cui ho deciso di investire ed è anche il secondo idle game a cui mi sono iscritto in un periodo di tempo di 1 mese.
Infatti il 23 marzo ho iniziato a giocare su Terracore e il 20 aprile ho iniziato a giocare su Golem Overlord.
Su Terracore ho già scritto e pubblicato 3 post (puoi leggere i post cliccando sui 3 link seguenti) e ho anche raggiunto il punto di pareggio dopo solo 26 giorni di gioco e quindi ho praticamente trasformato Terracore da un gioco play-to-earn ad un gioco free-to-play.
Golem Overlord ha molte caratteristiche simili a Terracore e come scritto chiaramente nel Whitepaper è stato proprio ispirato da Terracore.
Golem Overlord ha anche diversi elementi che lo differiscono da Terracore come alcune scelte relative alla tokenomics del gioco.
Cos'è Golem Overlord
Golem Overlord è quindi un idle game sviluppato sulla blockchain di Hive da https://splex.gg/ che è un contenitore di utili tools per Splinterlands.
Il gioco è molto semplice da giocare perchè il Whitepaper è molto chiaro e dettagliato e perchè quasi tutti gli elementi del gioco sono spiegati in dettaglio tramite menu che compaiono in automatico semplicemente posizionandoci il puntatore del mouse sopra.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere la schermata principale di Golem Overlord.
Su Golem Overlord devi minare i token PART, i token nativi del gioco, che sono necessari per migliorare le tue statistiche di gioco e sopravvivere nel gioco.
Le statistiche di gioco sono visualizzate nella tabella in alto a sinistra nella schermata principale.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le statistiche di gioco iniziali.
Il token PART è un token di secondo livello della blockchain di Hive e può essere trasferito, acquistato e venduto da uno dei Dex dei token di secondo livello di Hive come ad esempio:
Oggi 26 aprile 2023 1 token PART ha un valore di:
- 2.35209599 SWAP.HIVE = $0.9855282 (Lowest Ask)

La prima volta che ho guardato il grafico dei token PART sono rimasto impressionato positivamente dal volume di scambio che è molto alto considerato che Golem Overlord è un gioco che ha meno di un mese di vita.
Golem Overlord è un gioco che ha già un buon numero di giocatori attivi come puoi vedere dal grafico visualizzabile cliccando su Statistic in basso a destra nella pagina principale.
I giocatori sono quasi 10K anche se potrebbero non essere tutti giocatori unici perchè su Golem Overlord è possibile e consentito creare più accounts.
Personalmente preferisco i giochi che vietano di creare più account ma mi piace la scelta di non consentire i BOT.
Golem Overlord ha anche un secondo token, il token SHARD che è un token di secondo livello di Hive proprio come il token PART ma al momento non ha casi d'uso ma come annunciato da @golem.overlord sarà utile in futuro quando saranno rilasciati i crates e gli NFTs del gioco.

La mia strategia nei miei primi 6 giorni di gioco
Ho iniziato a giocare su Golem Overlord il 20 aprile 2023 quando il costo di iscrizione era di 30 SWAP.HIVE mentre oggi è stato aumentato a 40 SWAP.HIVE.
Subito dopo la mia iscrizione su Golem Overlord ho ricevuto 3 PART nel mio in-game wallet.
Io ho fatto subito il claim perchè non mi ero accorto che avevo 1 ora di protezione dagli attacchi.
Infatti su Golem Overlord i token PART nel tuo in-game wallet possono essere rubati da altri giocatori fino a quando non farai il Claim.
Se inizi a giocare su Golem Overlord ti consiglio di aspettare pochi minuti prima della fine della tua iniziale protezione prima di fare il primo claim così potrai avere un numero maggiore di PART per iniziare a migliorare le tue statistiche di gioco.
Nella mia strategia di investimento su Golem Overlord ho deciso di non acquistare PART da https://hive-engine.com/trade/PART per verificare se potevo crescere e migliorare nel gioco senza effettuare ulteriori investimenti oltre al costo di iscrizione.
Puoi effettuare il claim ogni 8 ore e quando fai il claim i token PART vengono inviati nel tuo Hive Engine Wallet dove sono al sicuro e non possono essere rubati da altri giocatori.
Dopo il mio primo claim i successivi tre claim sono stati molto ridotti rispetto al primo claim perchè con le statistiche di gioco iniziali ero un facile bersaglio per gli attacchi degli altri giocatori.
Il mio primo upgrade è stato portare la statistica Fortification dal livello 1 al livello 2 (costo 1 PART) per aumentare il mio livello di difesa dagli attacchi.

Mi sono focalizzato principalmente sul miglioramento della statistica Fortification.
I miei claims sono diventati sempre più grandi man mano che ho aumentato le mie difese perchè ho ricevuto un numero di attacchi progressivamente minore fino ad arrivare al mio ultimo claim prima del quale non ho subito nessun attacco.
Considero tutti gli idle games più investimenti che giochi e anche Golem Overlord appartiene a questa categoria essendo un idle game.
Negli idle games la mia strategia di investimento è sempre la stessa ed è una strategia che seguo da diverso tempo:
- In una prima fase investo e miglioro le mie statistiche di gioco
- In una seconda fase pianifico e cerco di raggiungere il punto di pareggio considerando solo le ricompense di gioco.
- Nella terza fase inizia il vero divertimento per me perchè vuol dire che ho trasformato un play to earn in un free to play e posso continuare a giocare e ad investire senza pensieri.
Seguirò la stessa strategia anche su Golem Overlord con una modifica:
- fino a quando il valore dei token PART sarà alto come adesso e fino a quando il numero dei giocatori continuerà a crescere utilizzerò il 75% dei PART guadagnati per aumentare le mie statistiche di gioco
- venderò il 25% dei token PART ottenuti per raggiungere il punto di break even e recuperare il costo di iscrizione.
- quando avrò recuperato il costo di iscrizione utilizzerò il 25% dei token PART per fare Power Up su HIVE.
Generalmente negli idle games reinvesto solo il 50% dei guadagni nel gioco ma nel caso di Golem Overlord reinvestirò il 75% perchè in Golem Overlord c'è un meccanismo interessante che incentiva a reinvestire i guadagni: le penalità.
Infatti chi reinveste meno del 75% dei token PART guadagnati riceve una riduzione dei guadagni.
In poco più di 6 giorni di gioco ho guadagnato un totale di 35.67 PART il cui valore di mercato (Highest Bid) è di 82.30 HIVE = 33.16$
Questo è davvero un ottimo risultato dal punto di vista finanziario perchè ho investito 30 SWAP.HIVE e ho ottenuto un valore totale delle ricompense di gioco di 82.30 SWAP.HIVE in soli 6 giorni che però ho utilizzato al 95.32% per migliorare le mie statistiche di gioco.
Nei prossimi giorni venderò i PART che guadagnerò e porterò la percentuale dei token PART venduti al 25% fino al raggiungimento del punto di break even.
Ogni volta che faccio il claim ho anche una probabilità del 55% di ottenere 1 token SHARD e fino ad oggi ho accumulato 8 SHARD il cui valore di mercato è di 9.04 SWAP.HIVE che è poco meno del 33% del costo che ho sostenuto per iscrivermi su Golem Overlord.
Per il momento non ho intenzione di vendere i token SHARD e valuterò questa possibilità quando avranno almeno un caso d'uso.
Considerazioni Finali
La mia prima impressione e e la mia prima valutazione di Golem Overlord è molto positiva sia dal punto di vista ludico che dal punto di vista del lato finanziario.
Il gioco è semplice da capire e facile da giocare grazie ad un whitepaper dettagliato e alle finestre esplicative degli elementi di gioco.
Se il valore dei token PART rimarrà rimarrà stabile o aumentarà nei prossimi giorni raggiungerò il punto di pareggio in pochi giorni...
E' solo la mia opinione personale ma i token PART e i token SHARD hanno dei valori di mercato molto alti secondo me. Questi valori potrebbero continuare a salire nei prossimi giorni soprattutto se il numero dei giocatori crescerà.
Ma in base alla mia personale esperienza passata negli idle games credo che questi valori tenderanno a diminuire nel medio-lungo periodo come spesso è successo e succede negli idle games.
Per questo motivo la mia strategia di investimento su Golem Overlord sarà sempre una strategia basata sul breve periodo e sarà molto influenzata da due elementi che considero importanti in tutti gli idle games:
- il numero dei giocatori attivi
- il valore dei token del gioco

Il successo di Golem Overlord è impressionante perchè 10k golem staff (non giocatori) sono un risultato eccezionale.
Considera che mi mancano meno di 2 HIVE per recuperare l'investimento iniziale e ho venduto solo il 25% dei PART che ho guadagnato in 8 giorni ;)
Premesso che gli idle games non mi fanno impazzire come giochi perchè li considerò quasi del tutto investimenti sicuramente avrà più successo GO perchè ha una capacità di sviluppo superiore guardando con che velocità aggiungono funzionalità...
Detto questo sono entrambi due giochi che al momento hanno potenziali di profitto molto alti e io mi ci butto senza pensarci e infatti ho iniziato anche con un mio curation account a giocare su GO.

Considera ovviamente i rischi ma se i PART rimangono al valore attuale e non scendono troppo raggiungere il punto di pareggio richiederebbe circa 10 giorni... molto meno se salgono di valore
Ovvio anche che il valore dei token PART attuale non può durare a lungo e prima o poi il crollo ci sarà ma non penso avvenga nell'immediato anche se questa è solo una previsione...

I also played this game. Actually, I made a mistake of not upgrading fortification and I got a lot of attacks and less claimable PART at the end.
Finally, I upgraded fortification and the rewards are much better now.
The remaining concern is the token prices are dropped so much today.
Hope it will recover a bit after NFT items are sold, similar to Terracore.

Post decisamente interessante, che mi ha permesso di conoscere un altro gioco, sullo stile di Terracore, che molto probabilmente vale la pena di seguire, iniziando quanto prima a giocarvi, per approfittare di un valore del token di gioco, e dei ritorni realizzabili, che al momento sono, direi, decisamente più che interessanti, e non so quanto potrebbero durare.
Fondamentalmente il gioco sembra essere abbastanza facile, visto che ricorda molto da vicino l'altro che ho appena citato, e al quale peraltro ha iniziato a giocare proprio dopo il tuo suggerimento, raggiungendo, nei giorni scorsi, il punto di pareggio, rendendolo, come sei solito dire tu, un gioco free to play che, di conseguenza, mi può solo dare, da ora in avanti, dei guadagni.
Ho solo una domanda, però, riguardo questo nuovo gioco, visto che non mi è del tutto chiara una cosa, e non vorrei fare degli errori che poi possano andare a compromettere la mia eventuale crescita all'interno dello stesso, che riguarda la possibilità di fare degli upgrade all'interno dello stesso, e/o dei claim dei token guadagnati.
Mi riferisco al fatto che, come hai spiegato nel tuo articolo, chi rinveste meno del 75% dei token guadagnati, riceve una riduzione dei guadagni, e non vorrei incappare in una situazione di questo genere, per cui preferisco chiarirmi meglio, fin da subito, le idee, facendo delle domande che magari possono sembrare anche banali, e stupide, che dare tutto per scontato e poi ritrovarmi là fare delle cavolate.
Le mie domande, quindi, riguardano se questo discorso riguarda quanti token si prelevano, o se semplicemente tiene conto di quanti, comunque, se ne rinvestano all'interno del gioco.
So di non essere stato chiarissimo in questo mio passaggio, e quindi vado a spiegarmi meglio...
I token che guadagniamo all'interno del gioco possono essere direttamente utilizzati per fare i vari upgrade, e di conseguenza per stare dentro a quella percentuale che ci consente di evitare una riduzione dei guadagni dobbiamo solo stare attenti a quanto preleviamo, utilizzando prima il 75% di quanto guadagnato per fare i vari upgrade, oppure, sullo stile di Terracore, per utilizzare i token dobbiamo, prima prelevarli, e poi utilizzarli da Hive-Engine per fare i vari passaggi che fanno salire le nostre statistiche di gioco, ed è quindi da lì che dovremo calcolare le percentuali da reinvestire?!?
So che può sembrare banale, ma ho preferito avere le idee chiare, fin da subito, che incappare in un qualche problema, fin dall'inizio, perché ho fatto una qualche cavolata.

Tra l'altro da oggi la percentuale richiesta per non avere penalità è salita all'80%.
In pratica l'ammontare dei token PART bruciati deve essere sempre l'80% dei PART di cui hai fatto il claim.
Non devi fare questo calcolo "a mano" perchè lo trovi sempre calcolato in basso nella schermata del gioco e ti allego lo screenshot (percent used).
Inoltre se deciderai di giocare ti consiglio di portarti sempre avanti con la percentuale perchè se un upgrade costa molto e non hai PART sufficienti, i PART su Hive Engine sono considerati parte dei non bruciati ;)

Innanzitutto ti ringrazio per la tua disponibilità nell'aiutarmi a comprendere, visto che, effettivamente, ho le idee confuse, e ammetto che ti devi preparare già ad una nuova risposta, perché non mi riesce ancora di comprendere appieno il tutto.
Avevo notato, già in mattinata, curiosando sul sito, il fatto che la percentuale richiesta per non avere penalità è stata portata al 80% a seguito di una votazione, da parte degli utenti attuali del gioco, ma mi sembra di capire che questo renderà il progetto più sostenibile, e teoricamente dovrebbe mantenere anche alto il valore del token più a lungo, e quindi, anche se magari complicherà un po' le cose, ben venga questo cambiamento, visto che va in direzione di un progetto destinato, teoricamente, a durare nel tempo.
Per il calcolo della percentuale, lieto di comprendere che non deve essere fatto a mano, tra virgolette, visto che appare calcolato in automatico all'interno della schermata del gioco, come da screenshot che mi hai allegato, ma, perdonami se sono un po' testone, non mi riesce ancora di comprendere bene un paio di cose.
Quando si parla di token "bruciati", infatti, non mi riesce di comprendere se posso farlo direttamente dal gioco, ovvero, ti faccio un esempio, se avessi 100 Part sul conto, e di conseguenza ottanta li devo riutilizzare, o reinvestire, che dir si voglia, all'interno del gioco per evitare complicazioni, devo farlo, e soprattutto, posso farlo, direttamente dal gioco, oppure devo fare prima un claim degli stessi, e solo dopo il gioco mi consente di utilizzarli per andare ad aumentare le mie statistiche personali, così come succede ad esempio su Terracore?!?
È solo questo passaggio che non mi è del tutto chiaro, anche se poi, fondamentalmente, risulta essere una cavolata, che posso capire anche durante il gioco vero e proprio sul sito, ma preferivo chiarirmi subito questa cosa per togliermi il fastidio.
Mi sembra di capire, inoltre, che devo stare anche molto attento a non prelevare troppo spesso, se ho da fare upgrade che inizieranno a costare sempre di più, preferendo correre il rischio di farmeli "rubare", poiché quelli che mi ritroverei ad avere su Hive Engine sarebbero considerati "non bruciati", e di conseguenza andrebbero a influire sulla mia percentuale, andando a correre il rischio di vedermi decurtare i guadagni che potrei realizzare, anche se credo che, se poi riuscissi a ritornare ad una percentuale che va oltre all' 80%, dovrebbero essere anche ristabiliti, o almeno così mi auguro.
Sarei anche curioso di comprendere, a questo punto, se gli eventuali Part, prelevati su Hive Engine, e subito venduti, e che di conseguenza non risultano più presenti sullo stesso fisicamente, rimarrebbero comunque conteggiati come prelevati, e di conseguenza influirebbero lo stesso sulla percentuale di cui sopra, o meno, poiché sarebbe una cosa di cui tenere sicuramente di conto per le proprie strategie.
Detto questo, penso che, giusto per sicurezza, attenderò la tua nuova risposta, e poi credo proprio che mi scriverò, ovviamente utilizzando il tuo link di affiliazione, poiché sono curioso di provarlo, e sembra, comunque, rappresentare un'ottima opportunità per diversificare un po'.

Viene fatto tutto in automatico e in modo semplice.
Quando fai il claim ottieni un certo quantitativo di PART che va direttamente e in automatico sul tuo wallet su Hive Engine e quindi fanno parte della percentuale non usata per migliorare le statistiche di gioco.
Quando clicchi su una statistica e la migliori i token PART necessari vengono prelevati dal tuo wallet su Hive engine e vengono bruciati e la tua statistica migliora.
Quindi non devi fare nulla e non c'è differenza tra token in game e token prelevati perchè quando fai il claim fai sempre un prelievo e fai un upgrade fai un operazione di bruciatura dei token ;)

Innanzitutto grazie per il tuo nuovo chiarimento, che mi ha fatto capire, se non altro, che in realtà le cose sembrano essere molto più facili di quello che pensavo, visto che, praticamente, mi sembra che siano automatizzate, e di conseguenza senza troppi pensieri su quello che si debba fare.
Ovviamente la cosa migliore, in questo caso, è quella di testare con mano il funzionamento del tutto iniziando a giocare, cosa che conto di fare già in giornata, appena finito di sistemare alcune cose, visto che oggi, teoricamente, avrei in ballo anche l'estrazione del contest che avevo organizzato, anche se, visto che comunque sono costretto in casa, potrei anche rimandarla a domani se vedessi che le cose stanno andando un po' troppo per le lunghe.
