Trying Japanese cuisine for Dinner with officemates.

With more than a month left at work, my Boss already requested our HR for my replacement.

Also, I was transparent in informing her that I might not go back to work anymore after my maternity ends. That is why I was busy this past week as I need to ensure all major tasks are done. Leaving a heavy burden to my office mates was not on my plan.

Thus, a while ago, I happened to rummage my phone and saw these kept in my gallery for months.

Since most of my work mates have kids, most of the time they are in a rush to go home. Thus, there are also some instances that we would go out; and have fun. Nope, we are no longer that young so it doesn't involve drinking but rather than eating.

This restaurant is located in one of the nearest well known malls at our office. Few minutes walk.

Going out as a group most of the time one of the problems was where to eat? Considering that everyone might have their own food preferences and even budget. After exchanging opinions we finally settled here at Yabu.

Actually what attracts us here is the unlimited vegetables as per one of our companions in the group.

Thus while ordering I had a hard time as the dishes were mostly deep fried which I am not a fan of. Not to mention mostly meat and seafood 🤣. It Seems I am not lucky today.

After placing our order, the waiter gave us this! Yes, it's sesame seeds which we will be grinding using a small mortar.

This is for the sauce of meat though choice is yours if you wanted to grind it or not. As for me, since the order will be served after a few minutes, this entertains me while waiting. Perhaps this is really the purpose, a strategy.

Once contented, add the sauce! It was quite messy.

This is what I have made, I mean mixed.

Finally one of our orders was served and looks inviting so far! Yep, still fried but not that meaty. For a while, this was enough, one piece could give relief to a hungry stomach.

This is what I ordered and I am not happy. Seeing the appearance it doesn't look delicious (pregnancy thing maybe). Left with no choice but to eat. Ordering for another dish was not an option as one; it took much time. I am starving already. Second, it's kinda expensive 🤣, over budget.

Slowly, I started devouring my meal and I was right. It doesn't taste what my taste buds were craving.

In front of me, she was happily eating tempura and shirmp. The aroma was mouthwatering but having a piece might led me to the hospital. Taking the risk was not advisable as I couldn't drink medicine.

Thankfully, one companion offered me to take slices of fried salmon from his plate! What a savior and now I am grinning 😆. They also laughed at me as how weird I am. My order was almost untouched. Rather than it being wasted, I gave it to him. Which he gladly accepted. Only to find out later, he was really eying for that dish.

As a slice and a little rice won't satisfy my tummy as well as my baby, I opted to eat this veggie. This is what I am referring to earlier. Comes with a sauce that is mixed with nuts.

Of all the foods, it is the vegetables that I don't have a problem eating even in the peak of my morning sickness. Somehow, the dinner ended well. Quite satisfied.

Especially after sipping an unripe mango shake. The perfect blend of sweetness and sourness? It was perfect!
