I went out for the market day and tried to cool down with a cup of ice cream. It was just one of the hard days as a Mom.

I've been planning to go to the market to replenish supplies as none were left in the fridge. Even though we are just a few minutes away, buying every day isn't recommended. Sometimes, the weather isn't good, and I also need to bringI also need to bring Caleb all the time.

It's a good thing he sleeps early, so I ask my mother-in-law to look after him. He mostly naps for two hours, and I have enough time.

The market isn't that huge, as it was only for the towns (talipapa). The choices were limited, so planning a menu wasn't on my mind.

What about veggies? I'm looking at this freshly picked for sale. Tips? It is cheaper as they sell on the sidewalk. Yes, at the market, but not renting a space.

I missed eating these beans, Patani. Back then, we had a lot in the backyard; now I need to buy 😕. Please give me okra, squash, and other veggies. This would be perfect for Caleb 😆.

Salted fish with scrambled eggs is also delicious for breakfast! Just a pack, as excessive eating wasn't healthy at all.

Some stalls had already been closed since it was past nine in the morning, and a program was being held in the city hall.

I added pieces of fish for a balanced food intake.Naa, also chicken and pork. A kilo each would probably last for weeks 😆. I am not a heavy meat eater.

Fruits? They were so expensive here! The last time, I purchased two pieces of Kaimito for almost $2! Imagine that we have a lot in the province. Ahh, in this case, I pity my son as he couldn't enjoy eating to his heart's content unless I purchased a lot or visited the province during the season.

The purchasing was quick, as I was thinking Caleb might wake. A few steps away was the tricycle terminal.

In some instances, I would prefer to walk home. Thus, I needed to pay almost $1 to arrive home quickly.

The tricycle ride here was expensive as it was always a special trip.

How money values deficits, no? I was so glad to receive a P20 bill as a present back then. It was a coin—not even enough to pay the fare.

It seemed I was a certified Mom; my instinct was right. Caleb was awake already, having slept less than an hour. It's a good thing my sister-in-law was there, as her work starts at noon.

Still, she left after I settled my goods. Thus, I can now manage my LO while doing other chores. We cooked our lunch as he was still enjoying his walker.

Bulanglang, boiled veggies, I didn't add artificial seasonings so he could eat. Just a pinch of salt and black pepper. Mind you, Caleb eats string beans. Not that much, but at least he did.

After eating, I put him in bed. He slept, but when I left to clean up the dishes, he woke up. I soothed him back to sleep, and yes, he did, but when I got up due to the call of nature, he woke up again! 😫. He was so clingy and always wanted me at his side. I tried my best to soothe him again, yet he refused to sleep.

My eyes hurt, and I badly wanted to sleep; he woke up earlier, at four in the morning. It rarely happened, but I got mad. That urge to hurt him, but I don't want to. So I left the bed while he was busy and ate ice cream.

I wanted to cool down. Maybe I was too exhausted to care for him and do household chores alone.

Did I manage to switch my mood? It's not that much, but it's quite better. Finally, at past three in the afternoon, he slept. That was long enough, as I'd been trying since twelve.

But when I woke up at four-thirty, he woke too 🤣.

Wahhh, its actually been a long time since I last had Patanj. Limot ko na nga ang lasa. And the Kaimito is soooo mahal naman. Meron din nyan here but I didn't bother asking kung magkano. For sure mahal din. Talagang dati we can just freely pick some in the tree. Nakakamiss, tahal na din last kain ki nyan. Uwu

You know what I had realized that back then we may be poor but on the other side not. Why?

Foods are free in our backyard. We have ube, kamoteng kahoy, veggies and several fruits. Unlike this days that even that Kaimito and Patani I need to purchase 🥹😔.

Maybe we felt being hampaslupa as we don't have that material things. The wants.

Do you ever steam your veggies, I find boiling can make them too soggy if overdone.

I intentionally did it so it would be soft enough for Caleb.

We do steam if dip in a sauce but we do cook like this with soup

As a mom I find out that carryiny baby along is so stressful, hence hubby helps out with shopping for the house.
Motherhood is so exhausting and sweet at the same time.
