I enjoy wandering around the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium in Kenting Taiwan.
Before we take a walk at the Southern beach in Kenting, we dropped by first at the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium and will be my entry in #Wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay and #makemesmile by @elizacheng.
Our companions just dropped us here and instructed us how to purchase tickets and what to expect inside. Usual, it was hubby who did the tasks honestly, I find it hard to converse with them without using a translation app.
While waiting I walked a little bit and couldn't help but to notice how good the weather was today. Safe to say, this is the only time the sky was blue and Mr. Sun was striking hot.
Ticket area was on the last window and where I am standing at the entrance.
Our ticket finally. Seeing the printed design, it was not easy to guessed what is the main attraction here.
One of the things that I liked about Taiwan was how technology works. A lot of manpower seemed not in need as every time all you need is to Tap! Bus and train fares and even here. Just tap the Q.R. code from your ticket and that's it!
The moment you enter, find several shaded canopies to rest as there was a swimming pool near the area.
However, it was not operational as of the moment for the reasons I do not know 🤣.
In line with those canopies are food kiosks where you can buy some snacks. Yes, just snacks as there was no heavy meal. Actually what I managed to pick was only a corndog.
From here, you need to walk maybe a little bit more to the next building where you can watch the exhibits. Outside was this large statuette of dolphins placed at the center of the pool.
Dipping down the pool was a perfect idea to cool down as the water was cold. Some kids were enjoying themselves with their guardian looking after them.
As we entered the building the first thing that got my attention was these!
Different replicas of water resources were hung on the ceiling. We started to wander around as I was curious what to see here because the tickets were expensive for me, around 450NT.
On my left I saw this, The Reef Crest. Common let's check what was in there!, told the husband and pulled him to go with me as he is still checking for something 😂.
Ah, so it seemed it will be about coral reefs! Perfect as I haven't been in diving, indeed I am looking forward.*
The first aquarium that I saw and my first time seeing coral reefs with my naked eye! I mean still living and not in movies or photos!
It was not only the reefs as there were a lot of colorful fishes! Should I find where is Nemo?
It's only now that I noticed why this fish looks so sad? See the eyes and the lips look like you will be crying anytime! OH me and my imagination but I was serious though!
It also took me a while before noticing that there were actually brief descriptions of Reefs.
The details were written in Mandarin but the names were in English! If you noticed that pink reef that looks like a brain that is called Corallimorpharia. While the one near the sad fish, which looks like a small tree, was Littophyton SP.
After this there were several aquariums with different types of reefs but I failed to take a photo of the details.
We continued walking around and the next was the Underwater Station! Not with Coral reefs this time but different species of fishes. It was like a huge room with the wall and ceiling of the sea! What makes it unique was, they designed debris that looked like a ship that sank at the bottom of the ocean.
See the rusted iron grills?
There were iron handrails on both sides that also served as barricades against the glass walls.
Standing by here, you can enjoy watching the breathtaking natural wonders!
You might ask where are they? Of course they are live fishes and the area for them was huge. So, they kept on moving tirelessly. One moment they are in a group in the area and the next time they are scattered everywhere.
Thus when we move to the next room, we will find a lot of them here!
The experience was great as it feels like I am indeed under the sea as I saw some species of fishes that are edible. I mean those that I usually sell at the markets like this one!
And earlier, I found a sad fish this time, got this smiling one!
It took me a week before I manage to write again after my last blog Finally we are PREGNANT after FIVE years of waiting; it was confirmed a day before my Birthday! The overwhelming support from everyone makes my heart so full and I appreciate all the messages. And yeah, since I am indeed pregnant and on my first trimester most of the time I feel so tired. So please pardon me if I responded late in your comments.
Have a great day!
