Discovered the astounding beauty of Yehliu Geopark - landscape of mushroom like and honeygold rock formations worn away by the sea.
From my latest blog, I shared how I explored Dragon and Tiger Pagodas - Confucius Temple. Thus, after this, the husband team leader at work offered to take us into a road trip going south. While on the road, they talk about going to Taipei which is approximately four hours away. Then it was agreed that we will be going on the next weekend since that will be their RD (restday) at work. It was so convenient on our part as I no longer needed to book the ticket. That means saving more time and money! Of all the tourist spots we visited, one that I enjoyed the most was the Yehlie Geopark!
For the short background about it, click it HERE.
We arrived there in the afternoon and the sky was still dark. Though I love it as the sun rays wouldn't hurt much we could relax anytime the rain might fall.
The ticket cost 120NT or $3.72. It was the husband who was buying our ticket as I couldn't speak mandarin. Communicating in English was not easy, not unless you are using a translation app. Since he has been working here for years, not that fluent but he could converse with them.
While waiting for him, took a couple of shots. See the rock formation at the right? You can actually climb up there and enjoy the breathtaking 360 view of nature. Sadly, I wasn't able to, as we found it hard to find parking earlier in the area.
As we started strolling around, we felt the cold breeze as there were a lot of trees.
Not only that it was located at a high altitude. Lots of benches were placed under the shade of the trees. Also though it was on the hilly side of, it was convenient to walk as the pathways are all like these.
On separate areas, carved rocks are place for exhibit and on of those was this Cute princess II.
Just beside, just a few walks away, you can find a brief description written in English.
Going up to the coast there you can find the other two rock formations though I failed to take a photo of the description.
There were a lot of tourists taking photos with it and we don't want to take much of the time as there are also people waiting.
We continued strolling around and passed by this cute statuette on both sides of the pavements.
Next to it was a mini planets, hangs and designs like solar system.
Now we are going to the most exciting part, The Queens Head and the landscape of mushroom like and honeygold like rock formations worn away by the sea.
I could already see a glimpse of it from where we were standing. Separate paths to take and to help which one to choose there are directions.
We take the path directly going to the sea and these is what greeted us!
The soil looks like the sand in the dessert, honeygold and yes; those rocks formations astounding!
The winds blew harder with few droplets of water yet that didn't stop our excited souls. Continuously, we climbed up near the steep side.
The famous queens' head! It was Staring all these rocks shaped in different sizes and I couldn't help but to get awe. At first I thought it was curved but it seems NOT! See below photos and tell me what do you think.
Aside from these you can also enjoy the wonderful view of the sea as the waves touch the seashore. The distinct smell of the ocean; the calming sounds.
It would be a great view going nearer but due to everyone's safety, no is allowed to step beyond the red lines.
Of course the husband and I don't want to pass this place without having our photos together as a souvenir. Thankfully our fellow tourists are approachable as setting up a tripod here was not advisable.
Supposed we are going there on the top, see a lighthouse like? Yet, we felt shy as our companions were waiting for us. They didn't go with us here as they have been here several times. It's only us that they toured around for free.
Instead, we just climbed up there at the viewing deck and got these scenic and 360 views.
My legs and feet were already tired from walking. Felt like it was already sore, however I can say it was worth it. Standing here for a while, savoring, feeding our eyes with the panoramic view created by nature.
Hello everyone, happy weekend! This is my entry in @galenkp WE-175.
What's the best or most enjoyable thing about your weekend and why? Remember to use your own photos.
This is one of the best weekends as my first trip outside the country. Explored the beauty of Taiwan - the heart of Asia. To be added that I spent it with my husband after five long months.
