MORE THAN USERS (WEEK 236)
“The desire to be friends is fast work, but friendship is a slow-ripening fruit”.

I was not planning to write this weekend. Several reasons occupy my time. However, I always try to read the suggestions left by our host @galenkp since I knew this channel. It so happened that as I went through the suggestions, I could not contain the desire to share with the community my thoughts on this topic.
Many people here fail to build solid relationships with other users - and relationships are the key to greater success - so what could you personally do better or differently to build more solid relationships on Hive?
I was just recently commenting to friend @adaluna1973 on the matter. She and I came to Hive at the same time, about 9 months ago, but we already knew each other from other virtual environments we had shared before. Although, it has been Hive that has brought us closer together. We have helped each other during the learning process and at the same time, I feel that we have been building bonds of friendship that transcend the framework of this platform.
I was telling her that I have not been able to do the same with other users here at Hive. My experience in this type of web3 platform is very little. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I discovered this world that revived my interest in writing, something I have always liked. It was the now disappeared Noise.cash platform that was my first time in this field. I still feel nostalgic about those times. Do you know why? Because of the good relationships that were born within its environment and that went beyond its virtual borders.
At that time, we created groups in instant messaging networks such as Telegram. There we could discuss related topics, share our personal achievements or find support to face difficult moments. The fruits of that friendship were also reflected within Noise.cash, despite its technical limitations for more direct interaction. To this day I still have friends from that time when the platform closed about 2 years ago.
I came to Hive looking for something similar. Unfortunately, I have to admit that I have not yet succeeded. In my opinion, there are several reasons. On the one hand, I feel that here the greater complexity and the weight of the technical component of the platform makes it a “colder” environment. The automation of processes such as content voting does not favor the creation of real links between users.
There is a reality that makes a difference when it comes to building strong relationships when I compare my Hive experience with the previous one. In the pandemic, we had more free time and were isolated from other people in the real world. The repressed need to relate may have acted as a favorable breeding ground for the virtual friendships that emerged then.
Another aspect, which I consider important in my case, is that I was not here when this network was created. In Noise.cash I was one of the pioneers. That foundational moment creates stronger bonds between users and somehow distinguishes them. Those of us who arrived later are viewed with a dose of suspicion. It is logical, when it is not clear, what are the intentions of the newcomers. The founders try to protect what they have built up with so much effort.
What I enjoy most, when it comes to content creation, is writing fiction stories. Writers are usually lonely people locked in the fantasy world of literature. I recognize that this is not the best ground for creating friendships. Communities dedicated to sharing life experiences are more favorable for the rapprochement of the users who are part of them.
Since, in addition to sharing what I write, I am interested in the social side of such platforms, I look for ways to diversify what I do. Debating respectfully on topics that attract the interest of other users is something I also enjoy. For some time now, this community has become a space where I can leave my reflections. Here, those who read me, can get a closer idea of the person behind the avatar of @leopard0. That's why I thank @galenkp for the initiative to create this community and my friend @adaluna1973 for inviting me to participate in the Weekend-Engagement.
I believe that time will play its role and the moment will come when I will feel proud of the relationships that were born within Hive. In the end, that's what being a social network user is all about, don't you think?
A hug dear friend, thanks for mentioning me in your post...😄...a little bit of history doesn't hurt.
Yes, I remember Noise with much affection, but there is an important detail that you have missed here: all, or almost all of us were Latinos, and that favored the strengthening of our relationships faster, !siempre chéveres!
It was not only about speaking Spanish, it was about the fact that idiosyncratically we are connected, even in the way we live the culture and do the culture.
The problems of life, the way of thinking, the nice way of saying things, the facility to laugh at things we understand quickly, the existence of a very strong group in writing that was very well valued...and so on.
And of course now, "we are the newcomers to Hive", the latest arrivals to a very very diverse place, for example I would never have thought I would meet people from Thailand and now I have a very young friend over there.....😂.... I see him very focused for his age and that pleases me about him, besides being a very educated.
So, I think, this is the real world: multi-thinking, multi-ethnic, where it costs a lot to be inserted, and often, most of the time, I say, our problems do not allow us to make a little more social life within Hive, because we work in it but no with the assiduity that others do, so socially we are very slow.
I want to stay positive and tell you that everything will improve gradually, and that there are many good people here interested in supporting us and in stimulating our work so that we feel safe within the block network.
We will be fine, you will see that we will.
Hugs.
Multicolored lap hugs for you (remember Noise's friend Wendy7757? She always ended her posts handing out colorful hugs 🧡 And I'm still going on with Noise's cant 😀😀😀😀).
It's true that the Latino community in Noise was large and influential, so we didn't need to look much further into other communities. But there were also other very large communities, for example the Thai one. Another thing was Taringa, which was thought only for Latinos.
I like to be able to go out of our geographical limits. It is an opportunity to get to know other cultures. It is a little difficult not being able to do it in our mother tongue directly, but it is still a challenge that adds to our personal growth.
I am convinced that lack of time is the biggest obstacle when it comes to forming closer ties within Hive. The other points that I analyzed in the post also have their effect, but the passage of time will make us overcome them. We will get to know better the handling of this platform and we will gain the trust of the older ones with our serious work.
Nothing, it's just that I would like time to pass quickly to be within that desired Hive 😉.
A good weekend to you 🌷 Here raining all day yesterday and today the sky is cloudy at times.
We agree, I think there are a lot of people who are more aware of the value they place on Hive, specifically because of the time they put into it....and I'll tell you what, if Hive manages to keep up over time it will be a good support for our senior years.
Undoubtedly it is time to invest our attention in it and learn about the many internal actions that can be done, but because we are still unaware of them we cannot take good advantage of them.
Internally Hive has nothing to do with Noise or Taringa, it would be laughable to compare them...Hive is a last generation spaceship...😅
It rained a bit here today, but it was just a slight cold front pushing some water.... I wish you a good weekend anyway.
🌻
"It will be a good support for when old age comes."
Dear friend, I announce to you that sentence has too much "will be". It is already, present, I have just turned 60. 😜😜😜
Seriously, I've heard opinions from several users about it, but in all honesty I'm reserved on the topic. And don't get me wrong, I think digital money is a must in the future of humanity. However it still doesn't earn my full trust. Its volatility sows my doubts.
The other thing is the thousands of tokens that exist and are still being created. Is that a good thing when it comes to taking cryptocurrencies seriously? My knowledge on the subject is not enough to make a solid judgment.
Being part of Hive will help me to find the answers without doubts. 🤯
Ohhh....Too much doubt, too much pessimism...😂

You said it yourself, time will help a lot. That other platform you mention was recommended to me because I love writing but in the end I never got on it... I was on another one called Odysse and there I only did art content.
Each platform has different people but I'm sure you'll find the environment you're looking for. I did after a while and that circle is still growing.
That's right, it's a work of patience, of convincing with publications that find an audience interested in reading you, of interacting with others, reading their publications and leaving interesting comments.
You are a good example to follow. I really enjoy your visit and being able to read your opinion. Thank you. 🌷
Time will tell, and the most important thing is to do what you like to do. Hugs!
I'm just going to ask you two questions... how many posts do you read per day and how many do you comment?
(I can see your activities) 😉
Then you have the answers to why you have not created relationships as you would like or why you have created them.
Believe me I wish I could be more active within Hive. For me it is an anti-stress therapy that allows me to put the everyday problems of the real world on pause. Too bad that "pauses", in my case, are usually of short duration.
The post, far from a criticism, uncovers a desire or an unachieved goal. As I already wrote, I think it is a problem of time. I hope Hive lasts long enough to be able to come back to this post and find only a memory of the past.
Thanks for your visit. I appreciate it very much. You are one of the users I would like to have as a friend. I admire the way you do it on Hive. 🌻
Please don't take my answer the wrong way and just do what you think is appropriate for your enjoyment. Ultimately it's all about enjoyment in life. That's why people who enjoy their work don't consider it as such and are more successful.
Thank you for your compliment. I will tell you a bit about my experience:
Of course it is not easy, and there is one thing Hive has taught me and that is a lot of humility. We learn from everyone all the time, and anyone even if they don't have a lot of writing or photography skills, for example, has something to teach.
That's why I read everyone, without distinction. And I'm not going to deny that I have a list of favourite authors and very, very favourite authors.
But you have to dedicate time to Hive to learn everything it has to offer, or at least a good part of it. And also to be attentive to others, to support and help them, who are all here driven by their own aspirations and also fighting a lot of battles.
;)
I don't take it badly in any way. Your experience and dedication to Hive allows you to give advice to those of us who are just starting out. Again I thank you.
That's the point (that sounds like a trendy reggaeton to me 😜) to feel like we enjoy the experience. I think the day Hive causes me stress I would not hesitate to quit.
It would be impossible for me, mostly due to lack of time, to conquer the attention of a large number of real users on Hive. I would settle for a slightly larger group of friends than I have now. It's not about numbers that I would like to have.
A sunny Sunday to you. It keeps raining here. That's not all bad, I can devote more time to Hive 😉. 🌷
Ok. Each to his own. 🙃
Have a nice day and I send you a hug.
