My Dream ||| Inkwell Nonfiction Prompt 27
I remember when I was doing my bachelor's degree, I told my friend Sara about a weird dream which I had about one of my professors in university. I dreamt that he was in love with me, and we were together. My friend Sara listened attentively to my dream. I don't remember exactly what was the dream about. But, I remember bits and pieces of it.
So, I dreamt that I was in another world, another dimension, or like a parallel world, and he was dressed in girly clothes, and he was wearing make up. The fact that he was wearing makeup was normal in that world. He offered me chocolate. I told him I was allergic to chocolate. Most people can eat chocolate, but I was allergic in that world to chocolate. I told him that I can't eat any, and he ate all the chocolate he brought me. Despite the chocolate allergy, we seemed to get along, and we were surprisingly happy together in my dream.
My dream was interesting to Sara. She laughed so hard at my dream. I told her she should never tell anyone about this dream. That it should remain our little secret. When I finished telling Sara about my dream, I had a bad feeling because I just became friends with Sara. I knew nothing about her. I didn't know what kind of person she was. Later, I found out my intuition was right, that I shouldn't have trusted her with my secret.
The said professor was really handsome and girls really liked to be with him, but he never crossed the line with anyone. He followed the rules. He was very young, but his height was a little short. My guess was because his height was a little short that I dreamt he is wearing girlish clothes. Because he didn't have good bone structure, but more or less a really handsome face and nice hair.
This made him unattractive to girls with higher heights. He knew how to teach and was excellent at transferring his knowledge to the students. He never made any jokes, because he was afraid of students taking advantage. He tried to teach us as many materials as he could, and his exams were difficult for me to answer. Overall, he was a wonderful teacher. He also had a fantastic voice, he sounded sophisticated when he spoke.
So, Sara now knew about my weird dream and told another friend of hers, and she told another friend of hers and after some time the whole class knew about my dream. I found out that the entire class knew about my dream from their reactions and their little laughs when they saw me in the hall or in class. At first, I was clueless, but then one of my classmates told me she knows about my dream. It was both embarrassing for me and my professor.
At last, my professor found out about the dream. He didn't show any harsh reactions or anything bad. He could fail me, but he didn't. However, whenever he saw me in the hall or anywhere in the university, he remembered my dream. I knew it because of his meaningful eye contact with me. He was like, “I know what you dreamt about me and I will never forget it.”
I didn't socialize with Sara from that point, when I realized she told my classmates about my dream. She contacted me several times to hang out and all that, but I ignored her. I did not want to be friends with her anymore. Because she didn't take what I said seriously. Maybe she felt bad about it as well, because things got out of hand. But it was her fault that the entire class made fun of me.
I learned that I should never share such information with people who tend to tell my secret to other people. Specially secrets that lead to my embarrassment.
Perhaps Sara will learn to keep trust, keeping secrets. Your dream seems full of symbolism, @lenaspiritual. Dreams contain secret messages that we send to ourselves and that only the dreamer can decipher. Or perhaps it is the object of the dream that gives you the correct interpretation. From that point of view it was good that the secret has circulated and reached the right depositary:
"I know what you dreamt about me and I will never forget it". Good phrase to start a nice friendship, despite the allergies. Thank you for revealing this secret. Appreciate your interactions with the other writers.
I don't really know what the dream could mean.

Your professor's admirable reaction to the situation showed his professionalism and understanding. Your personal experience with Sara and the consequences of sharing secrets serves as a reminder for all of us to be cautious when confiding in others.🙏🙏🙏 I dont like when people ''share the secret''... it is a secret, why are you sharing.. right?
Yes, she shouldn't have shared my secret, that is why I avoided socializing with her.
