5 Minute Freewrite: Cave Drawings
Queen Raina ruled a magical land called Tomo, which were the site for sorcery and magic. People from other lands came to Tomo to learn magic.
Raina had the most powerful knife in all the kingdoms. She used this knife to summon a spirit called Lamara. This spirit granted wishes to its owner, but at a cost. And, Raina rarely used it because the cost wasn't worth the hassle she should bear.
One night, a group of thieves invaded the castle with the purpose of stealing the knife. Raina was surprised because she has guards and the doors of her castle get locked at night. No one has the keys, but the guards. Someone must have got their hands on the keys. An insider, no doubt! One or more of the guards are traitors.
After several days, Raina's advisor Edward informed her of a cave with drawings showing the history of the magical knife's owner: Both future and past. So, Raina to know what happened sent a group of brave knights to that cave to see who stole the knife. They found the drawing, and they told Raina that the thief looks like her brother.
Raina shocked of this news, summoned her brother and after questioning him, he admitted that he stole the knife for power. He wanted to take her place and become a king, but Lamara asked him to sacrifice his daughter for it and he refused.
Raina took the knife from her brother and put it in a safe place because she understood how Lamara can grant wishes, any wishes.
The cave drawings said that after years of Raina keeping the knife in a safe place, some powerful magician comes and steals the knife and summons Lamara and havoc comes to her land.
Raina was in fear of this truth and hired a group of magicians to prevent this from happening. And, with the help of those magicians, they were able to identify that dangerous sorcerer and destroy him and preventing him from accessing the knife.
For years, Raina struggled to keep the knife from the wrong hands, and after she died, it was her son's responsibility as the king to keep the knife safe.
