~ Bus Conductors and Drivers ~
Greetings pupil.
The luxury of a bus conductor is one that might be only noticeable by one of us who do not have to face the daily problems that he does. The temper of the driver is what clouds our vision in most of the circumstances. What is more? Starting with their negotiation with the public along with their temper during the hot cloudy noon followed by the gloomy afternoon, everything is their attempt and should be controlled, are the thoughts of 90% of the passengers.
Are we so cruel? As educated people or as job holders, are we so cruel? We have a very horrible work schedule, we have a very workaholic time frame but are we to blame them for it? On a daily basis, how much do they deserve to be blamed for all those matters that are not their concern?
Being a bus conductor or a bus driver is NOT a low level job, it is much of an appreciated and civil job. Are they not working for us to help us? Without them how are you planning out your transportation expense? It is one of those jobs that are TO BE MUCH APPRECIATED and is being UNDERRATED.
Being a conductor you would need to have the skill of knowing faces and working under pressure. You would need to be good in accounting and in basic but complex addition and subtraction. You would need to be physically fit to be able to hang from the bus door and not fall to cause an accident. You would need be excellent at communicating precisely and fast. Also, not to forget, your memory needs to be sharp. So, now tell me do you even have the skills that a bus conductor needs?
I am not insulting you, that is not my purpose, I am trying to make a point.
It can happen that we are not understanding things going around in this life, in others life but the least what we can do is be kind and considerate. From this sense of moral, we can let pass the elongated waiting hours of the buses and can be polite to request for them to move on. We can try and evaluate and bring them to a system by spreading a solution from their end but it is not wise to shout at them while they are trying to earn their living from it.
There is no one who draws a line for them to walk on, there is no guideline that they follow restrictedly, if they did, you as a passenger would experience and see it reflect in most of their actions. Lately I have seen a change and that is on the conductors, they are more aggressive and contained also, more than the drivers.
In previous days the drivers used to be the rulers, now it seems that the conductors are the rulers and I have seen this consecutively in two different kind of buses and the 4 times I used the transport. It was a CHANGE that did catch my attention, I guess many did observe it too.
Maybe now they are putting it a concern for the conductors to be aged than the drivers, or the conductors to be smarter than the drivers for them to handle the crowd and at the same time the driver can be little relaxed.
Maybe, this can just be one of the assumptions I am pulling but the main topic of concern is that, both drivers and conductors are doing their part of the struggle, the least what we can do being humans is, we can be polite to them. They are not harsh to us, they were never but as we are humans, we can loose temper here and there. So, being the passenger, the least we can do is be polite and do keep in mind that we are the knowledgeable one, not them. So we are the ones, who can TEACH them.
These are the thoughts that occupy my mind while travelling. Life is hard, some get exhausted physically while others get exhausted mentally, we need to respect both and make their living easy not because they are our close people but because we humans are each others assets.
