It's back! The 2022/2023 Premier League Season kicks off tonight with a London Derby which means I only have to wait another day for Leeds to kick off. I'm so excited, and this time, the bars are all open. Now it will just mean a fight with the locals for the remote control!

This season, I won't be covering the foreign leagues or lower English leagues so its EPL, Cup and Europeans only. I am going to do a big World Cup competition though when that starts in November but haven't quite finalised the details yet but it will be a huge giveaway!

Anyway, let's get into it straight away with...

My prediction is :-
Palace 1 : 3 Arsenal
Nketiah to score the first goal

For Arsenal, it's going to be a first competitive start for former City players Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko and we might also get a first glimpse of highly rated French defender William Saliba. Arteta is playing his injury worries close to his chest with a number of his squad 'recovering' from knocks but I'd suggest they still have a strong squad to choose from.

The big worry for them will be Emile Smith Rowe who is doubtful and be a big loss.

Palace are really struggling with injuries with Butland, McArthur, Tompkins, Johnstone and Olise all sidelined.

The other huge problem Palace have is the return to his parent club, Chelsea of last season's loanee, Conor Gallagher. He will be really missed.

If first day nerves don't play a part, this has to be a big chance for Arsenal to settle in to the new season with strong, away win to get their hopes for Champions League football next season underway.

It seems a while ago now but that was a big surprise as Liverpool absolutely stuffed City 3-1 with Trent Alexander-Arnold doing the honours with the first goal.
