Travel to Baguio to see the many faces at Sam's Rock Garden
When you travel to Baguio, it is not just for the views and the feels. It is about finding love or losing love. It's not all about food but it's also about art. Where to go in Baguio? Why not consider Sam's Rock Garden.
Baguio City is known for many things and has gained a lot of names like The Summer Capital of the Philippines, City of Pines and most recently becoming a member of UNESCO's Creative Cities. The city is already known as a hub of artists from visual arts to performing arts. There are different museums and artist villages where you can see the creativity of artists. Different parks and gardens have opened its doors to local and tourists alike showcasing the craft and artistry of the city.
One of these parks is Sam's Agritourism Park and I like to refer to it as rock garden for that is literally where the park is built upon - on top of rocks.
This is the second part of my post about this place. You can read the first part here: Sam's Agritourism Park.
But first, let's take a break. It's good that they have a refreshment area for it can get warm and hot there even though you are in the midst of plants.
After roaming around for some 20 minutes or so, it was time for a break. By this time, there were more tourists coming in. Some are local I think.
The park is lush with flowers and different plants but we didn't notice them that much for we are focused on the sculptures that were so blended well with the rocks there.
Almost everything is in plain sight like this mermaid.
We have covered half of the area and what things can be seen there by the time we had a break. We thought we have covered almost everything but when we started checking things again, we found out there were a lot more to be seen.
Here are the rest of the faces you can see in Sam's.
I like what they did with this one. I thought at first it was just a hut shaped like a mushroom with chairs around it. However, as I approached it, I can see that there is painting on its ceiling.
Instantly the song Vincent by Josh Groban played in my mind. Looking at the photo I took, I should have angled it better so that the pole supporting the roof would blend in better to the painting. I think one can do that given the right angle.
Aside from the frog and dragon, there are also other animals and insects that you can see. You just have to look really carefully for some can easily be missed. You have to look up and down, left and right and behind you else you must have missed something.
We thought that was the end of it but then we saw a sign that says Mother Nature and a narrow path leading somewhere. So we got curious and followed that. Glad that we did for we saw more.
There were more plants in this area. I like what they did here. It feels like a part of an old civilization - the carvings, the path and that little wall above.
We saw those shrooms and another ongoing project on our way to the exit.
I am sure that I have missed a lot more. It's going to be interesting going back after a few months and see what else Sam has to offer. I have seen at least two or three ongoing projects there. It would also be nice to spend a sunset there for there's a part where you can have an unobstructed view of South China Sea.
Leaving you now with this happy lion and the view you can see if you go behind it.
So pack up your bags and travel to Baguio to see these things for yourself. Travel to Baguio now and fall in love with these creative creations.
Sam's Agritourism Park is located along Km 5 Asin Road, Baguio City. It's just at the outskirts of the city. If you are tired from the congestion in the city, then come to Sam's. It's another reason to travel to Baguio.

Di ko man naintidihan haha! So based pa rin sa hive or steem ganun?
Ayun. So wala reward sa travelfeed itself..yung dito parin
