Unfortunately, I Couldn't Participate In Blood Donation Due To My HB Was Too High

The Military District Comander 0507 Bekasi held an event of blood donation or donor. The comander invited public to donate their blood. The comander worked together with The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). They invited volunteers to come to the district building.

First, hundreds of military officers attended a flag ceremony. After they finished, all volunteers were asked to enter the military barack.

We should register first to get the health checked. We filled the form with our id cards. Then, we should wait to get called. There were about 100 volunteers who were ready to give blood donation.

The militarry officers helped volunteers to register. They also provided the seat to wait.

After more than a half an hour, I got called. I entered a room where some health workers were ready. I waited in a line. It was my turn to get my health checked.

Some health staffs were ready in front of their computer to input the data of the volunteers. I walked and sit infront of a health worker. She checked my blood tension. She said it was normal. Then, she checked my HB. She pricked my finger with a small needle. She took the blood sample in a small paper and put it in an electronic device. In a few second, the device shew number. It was 17.8.
Then the health worker told me that I could not give blood donation today because my HB was too high. The normal HB was under 16.
I saw some volunteers failed to pass the health checks too. There were only a few people who could donate their blood. They should be in the fit condition.

I regreted that I could not donate my blood but it was OK. I hope the Districk Comander would meet the minimum target for today. A military officer said that the target was 50 pouches.

Then, I went home with my friend. He was a military officer who lived near my house.
