How I Cook Sopas for Dinner
December feels so different these days! Even on the last day of November, I can already feel the chill in the air, even during the daytime. The weather is unpredictable some moments are super cold, while others are surprisingly mild. On those chilly weekends, my family loves to request Sopas for dinner. There's nothing quite like warming up with a delicious bowl of hot soup on a cold evening!
Adding chili powder for some extra spiciness is just the best! I also love to throw in some extra milk because the creaminess pairs perfectly with the heat. It reminds me of my mom she would always sprinkle extra chili powder on her food. One time, I asked her why she was eating so slowly, and I noticed her soup wasn’t its usual creamy color; it was a pastel orange! She was sweating a lot, but she seemed to be enjoying it! Not really LOL.
- 500g Macaroni pasta
- 1 bulb of Garlic
- 2 Medium Red Onions
- 2 Chicken Cube Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon of Ground Pepper
- 5 Boiled Egg
- 2 tablespoon of Cooking Oil
- 1 Medium Cabbage
- 1 Can of Evaporated Milk
- 1 Stem of Celery
- 2 Medium Carrots
- 1 Red Bell pepper
- 4 tablespoon of Fish Sauce
- 1 large Chicken Breast
I simmered the chicken breast until the exterior was perfectly cooked. By doing this, I ensured the meat would be tender and easier to slice.
I chop the meat into small pieces and fry it in a pan with 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Cook it until certain parts are crispy. While you can skip this step if you're feeling lazy, I highly recommend frying the meat first for that delicious crispy flavor.
Once the chicken reached the perfect crispiness, I added the aromatic garlic and onion, sautéing them together for a minute to enhance the flavors.
For an incredible burst of flavor, I added two chicken cubes, four tablespoons of fish sauce, and whole pepper. This combination truly enhances the dish!
As the water reached a rolling boil, I added the macaroni pasta and allowed it to cook to the perfect al dente texture, ensuring a delightful bite in every mouthful.
I included the chopped celery and bell pepper to enhance the flavor and nutrition of the dish.
As the pasta approaches the perfect cooking point, this is how it should appear.
I pour half of the evaporated milk, ensuring a rich and creamy mixture.
To complete this delicious soup, I enhanced it with a perfectly boiled egg. Now, it’s time to enjoy a warm and satisfying meal!
