Historical Palaces in Manikganj.
I'm not so sure about other districts, but I know Manikganj is famous for all the historical palaces it holds in Bangladesh. My very first trip with friends was to the historical palace of Manikganj though I'm not showing that palace in this post.
I have aerial shots of Betila Landlord's House and Tewta Jomidar Bari to show in this post.
This is Betila Landlord's House where we noticed two palaces side by side. This place was built about a century ago by Jyoti Babu and Satya Babu and it's located in Betila which is about 8.5 km away from Manikganj Bus Terminal.
We went to the backyard of this place and I flew my bird to get some good views of this place.
That's a big pond right beside the houses and I guess the pond was of the same owners those days though I don't think a single owner owns all these lands these days.
I didn't have any limitation to height so I sent my bird to a good height to get a proper view of this place alone. I could send it in more heights for sure but I didn't want to capture the whole village in the frame, lol.
Then I tried to capture some photos from different angles so I called my bird back and tried some close-up shots of the place and I noticed the sun rays on the photo above.
We were going to another palace nearby named Betila Sotto Babur Bari which is about 600 m away from the other place and I noticed this boat on our way, and you should already know my attraction towards boats.
We had to pass this long bridge made of bamboo only. You should understand how long this bridge is and I was surprised to see people even riding motorcycles on this bridge when my aunt was scared of passing it on foot.
I noticed the sun was about to set after passing the bamboo bridge and I noticed the under-constructed mosque there.
This is Betila Sotto Babur Bari where we reached at sunset time so I couldn't capture better pictures from other angles. There was another palace where we reached when it was dark already.
This is Tewta Jomidar Bari that we visited another day. This place is about 30 km away from Manikganj Bus Terminal towards Padma River. This is an important place associated with the memories of the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and his beloved wife Pramila Devi.
This place looked awesome and we didn't have to spend any money on any tickets to explore this place. We even climbed up to the roof of the big building.
This pond or its dock was named Kuhelika which is also associated with the memories of Nazrul and Pramila.
With some more ancient buildings around, I noticed this architecture wonder by the pond and this looked like a temple.
