Hellbrunn Palace - An Unforgettable Day in the Garden of Eden
Hello everyone! During our visit to Salzburg, we explored the magnificent Hellbrunn Palace on a rainy day. This is a beautiful palace, a 17th-century residence. I learned that it was the summer residence of an archbishop built in 1613. It was constructed in Baroque style by Italian architects. After waiting for about 15-20 minutes, we joined a tour, which cost 13.5 Euros.
While waiting for the tour to start, I ventured into the garden and immediately liked it even more. The scenery was quite beautiful and there were interesting sculptures that moved when water flowed. I imagine these fountains must have been quite entertaining for the archbishops of the time.
The garden offered a beautiful view of the palace, but I couldn't tear myself away, choosing instead to continue exploring the fountains. The sculptures were impressive and soon our tour guide arrived, signaling the start of our tour.
According to our guide, the palace got its name from the clear spring that supplied it with water. Hellbrunn was designed for daytime use in summer, as the Archbishop usually returned to Salzburg in the evenings. Thus, there are no bedrooms in Hellbrunn.
We began our tour with the Earth Room dedicated to Neptune. It was intriguing; the cave, despite being dark, had a unique charm. I was quite impressed with the sculptures and even found a park with unicorns.
Part of the park resembled a large puppet theater, representing the city's life and it was quite intriguing. It's incredible to think that everything was designed in the 1600s and 1700s, given its modern appearance, yet it dates back centuries.
One of the rooms had a crown that moved up and down when water was sprayed. According to the guide, the palace is also famous for its water games, designed by the bishop to play a series of pranks on guests. The palace has mechanisms that, when activated, spray water from hidden fountains at unsuspecting visitors during the tour.
We continued our tour. Unicorns, beautiful flowers and fountains, everything looked amazing. The tour focusing on the fountains came to an end, but we explored other parts of the palace.
I would definitely recommend this place. Visit Hellbrunn and I'd suggest it as your first stop. It's a fantastic place, offering a truly impressive experience. I wish we had come earlier. Despite the fact that it was sunny on the first morning, we didn't visit, which meant we missed out on some great photo opportunities. But oh well, that's how it goes. We tried to make the most of being here.
This place felt like a path to paradise. The color of the water was so captivating. There was a statue of a woman adorned with flowers. It was genuinely beautiful. This is one of my favorite places. From here, there's an amazing panoramic view of the palace and the fountains. It was incredible to think that everything was so beautiful. I loved everything here, the pine trees, the tall trees, the greenery, the beauty and the palaces.
I was particularly enchanted by the flowers. Flowers are my passion; they truly captivate me. The area filled with these flowers was so beautiful and magnificent that I felt like I had fallen into paradise. I wanted to immortalize myself in this heavenly flower garden because it was incredibly beautiful. I love flowers and these colors were nothing short of heavenly. I felt so happy here.
Returning to continue exploring the palace, I was mesmerized by the landscape and nature around me. I didn't really care about the rain as I hurried along, excited to explore this beautiful area. The magic of the colors and flowers was very impressive.
