Once again, the dictatorship won an election, or it stole it. I knew this would happen because it is INCONCEIVABLE for a dictatorship to accept its defeat. When I’m told that the regime of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet left power through a referendum, I respond that the reasons and historical context are different. Beyond that, it’s frustrating to know that while the dictator Nicolás Maduro was going to "win" again, deep down I wished that what the vast majority of Venezuelans want would come true.

Venezuela has been going through an economic crisis for over a decade, with corruption being the biggest problem, along with the lack of autarky. A resource-rich country cannot sustain a prosperous economy. Thousands of unfinished projects result from embezzlement, to cite just one of many examples.

It has been 25 years since Venezuela has been stuck in time. This is evident in its architecture and infrastructure.

A simple post like this is more than insufficient to summarize the calamities that Venezuelans have endured.

Nuevamente la dictadura ganó una elección, o mejor dicho, la robó. Yo sabía que esto iba a suceder, porque es INCONCEBIBLE que una dictadura acepte su derrota. Cuando me dicen que el régimen del dictador chileno Augusto Pinochet salió del poder a través de un plebiscito les contesto que las razones y el contexto histórico son distintos, pero más allá de eso, es frustrante que sabiendo que el dictador Nicolás Maduro iba a volver a “ganar”, muy en el fondo quería que se hiciera realidad lo que la gran mayoría de los venezolanos quieren.

Venezuela atraviesa una crisis económica desde hace más de una década, siendo la corrupción el mayor problema y también la ausencia de autarquía. Un país rico en recursos no da abasto a una economía próspera. Miles de proyectos inconclusos debido a malversación de fondos, por citar uno de los muchos ejemplos de la catástrofe y el atraso.

Son 25 años desde que Venezuela se quedó detenida en el tiempo. Se ve en la arquitectura e infraestructura.

Un simple post como este es más que insuficiente para resumir las calamidades que han vivido los venezolanos.
